Nick’s POV
When I heard the news, the words in my throat dried up. My lungs suddenly stopped working and my muscles froze in place. I couldn’t believe what my Beta was telling me. It was the least expected news I had thought would come to my ears and yet it did.
It hit me like a tidal wave.
“Alpha Nick?” Beta Alex shook me out of my state of shock, which I escaped with a shiver.
“Yes?” I breathed out.
“Are you okay? You see really pale from hearing the news.” He asked.
I could hear the confusion and curiosity in his tone. I’m sure he was wondering what was big enough to send me into a shock like that. He didn’t have to know. I didn’t want to tell anyone and would like to keep it a secret except for my immediate family members that knew.
“Yes, I am.” I nodded.
