You have nothing to worry about. We should focus on finding Zita,” I mind-linked him. He nodded, but didn’t look convinced. But it wasn’t like we had the time to talk about it now. We entered the pack room and Colton walked me towards the Alpha, he was on a stage as the pack members gathered there, looking intently at him. I took a deep breath and climbed the stairs to the stage. Alpha Zack wrapped a hand around my arm, pulling me to his side, not in an aggressive way. “Here is our little white wolf. Our pack was blessed with something as rare as her, and her equally blessedDNA, and legacy is another sign that we are meant to thrive at any cost. I’ve naturally already claimed her, and if she proves herself worthy by giving me a powerful heir, she will become the Northern Light Pack’s Luna.” The pack members erupted in applause and it only made my stomach even more queasy: his words, the validation of the people who were afraid to say otherwise, it all felt so wrong. My eyes scanned the large room, looking for Zita among the crowd. I sighed, she wasn’t there and Colton wasn’t able to talk to her nor locate her in the last days. The Beta was standing there with his mate, she looked at me from up to down, her face was pure disdain. I couldn’t care less about her snob expression, she was surely feeling good that she was still the highest-ranked female in the pack and I was still as rankless as I was yesterday. But being a Luna for me wasn’t about a title, it was about people. Besides, I was sure her pose would collapse if she knew what her mate was doing behind her back. I guess she wasn’t marked, so she couldn’t feel the sting of the cheating. The crowd’s attention, the noise and the light, it all only made me feel a bit dizzy. I almost stumbled on the Alpha and he moved his gaze to me. He wasn’t angry or even serious, his face showed worry for a moment, as he wrapped his arm around me and we went down the stage. The worry on his face was soon replaced by a frown, “Don’t embarrass yourself or me in front of the pack, Iris.” he mind-linked me. “I won’t,” I replied firmly and looked away. I was here for the appearances only, it was only about the deal and I should stand strong and play my part, for my pack and for my freedom. I looked at the banquet, the table was filled with wild game meat, fried bread and fish, some of the Pack’s traditional dishes. But the look of it only unsettled my stomach. “I think putting Beta Grey in his place exhausted us, Iris. Or maybe having him that close and the obnoxious look on his face is the cause of your nausea. At least that’s how he made me feel. He is gross!” Sapphire said in my mind. I turned to look at the Alpha and was surprised to catch his grey eyes looking intently at me. “We already did what had to be done here, we can go now.” He grabbed my arm and led me towards the door. Not that I wanted to stay here, at all. But all the people had their expectant eyes on him, on us and he was simply leaving? We walked out of the pack room and I started, “Are you leaving everyone behind? The party?” “Aren’t you tired, Iris? You didn’t seem like you wanted to stay.” So, he left this early for me? My brows furrowed in confusion as he led me up the stairs. “About your friend Zita, she has been in the pack clinic for a few days. Beta Grey was too harsh on her with his punishment, but the doctor said that she is almost fully recovered now. She should be out of the clinic by tomorrow.” A deep sigh of relief escaped my throat—she was well. I always knew that the Beta was bad news, he was a monster, yet Alpha Zack didn’t do anything about it. “Things will change when we become Luna, Iris,” Sapphire reassured me. But besides that, I couldn’t understand what was happening with the Alpha. His change of behavior was very confusing and a bit unsettling. “Iris, I told the Beta to not let any male in the house, now all the staff is female and the only men around are him and Colton, but he was ordered to not leave the third floor, unless it’s strictly necessary and for meals. You can walk around the house freely from now on.” “Wait? Poor Colton!” I exclaimed and the Alpha ignored my remark. I gulped hard, overwhelmed by a bigger wave of confusion, why was he doing all of that for me? It wasn’t part of the deal, at least not before I gave him his heir. We entered his bedroom and he wrapped me in his arms, “I want you now. I will let you see your friend Zita. She can come here whenever you want. But I want you to be mine, willingly, Iris. Strip.” I let my clothes fall, forming a pool around my feet, and took the pheromone-inducing paste out of the drawer and coated my core with it. The Alpha had a grin on his face, “seems like you aren’t that tired after all. Now, on your hands and knees.” ***I climbed on the bed and got in position for him to take me. He squeezed my butt cheek and gave it a light slap before thrusting a finger into me. A satisfied groan left his lips. I was already starting to burn, the effects of the pheromones seemed to kick in faster than the previous time, every time. He unbuckled his belt and entered me in a single thrust, filling me completely and making an inadvertent moan break through my lips. His possessive fingers dug into the flesh of my hips and he rode me fast and deep. My body undulated in heated pleasure as I rocked my hips against him, rubbing my sensitive spots against his shaft. This earned me a light spank and a deep ramble. He and his wolf were very pleased and that was their way of showing it. His body leaned up and his hands worked rather fast on dishevelling my half-updo as he took a thick lock of my hair in his hands, pulling it without hurting me. Sapphire howled in my mind, she enjoyed his tug, she liked it wild. I guess it was normal, since she was... well, a wild animal. Soon we were both climaxing, as my s*x clenched around his. It felt good, better than I wish it would feel. After doing it two more times, I almost crashed on the bed, exhausted. ***As I was falling asleep I felt his lips pressing on the side of my face, he was giving me a sweet kiss. Nope, it was sweet and Alpha Zack was everything but sweet. It must only have been a dream. ~ * ~ Alpha Zack My eyes fell on her. She looked exhausted even in her sleep, her skin gleaming snow-white, her red lips slightly open. F*ck! I've been fighting, ignoring, trying to shove it away. But I couldn't resist this bond. It was a curse! The other option would be rejecting her and having her for the purposes of the deal only, an heir and a powerful Luna to show to the pack, and especially to other packs. Anybody would know better than attacking us and attempting to claim our lands. Having Iris was symbolic, it showed the world that our pack was blessed and I was indeed the one destined to reign over the entire continent. I would rise as the most powerful Alpha ever seen. My name would resonate like thunder. Yet rejecting Iris wasn’t an option. But I couldn't and I wouldn't lose any piece of her when everything in me only wanted to claim, possess, and consume Iris entirely. My hand rubbed my face in aggravation and I couldn’t bring myself to sleep. I only looked at her and ran my fingers through a strand of her light blond messy hair. “You are a chaos brewer, Little White Wolf. But I can’t allow you to be the end of me,” I murmured. Didn’t matter how many times I had her, I wasn’t able to f*ck her out of my system. After a few sleepless hours, I noticed Iris stirring in her sleep, opening her blue eyes wide and looking at me half-startled, “Alpha Zack, my wolf told me that something was wrong. I think our pack is being attacked.” As soon as she said those words, I heard many screams and whimpers of pain through the pack link. “Stay here, Iris. You will be safe,” I said, wrapping an arm around her and looking intently at her eyes. She nodded and gulped hard. “We will protect her!” My Wolf reassured me. I knew he would, we would. The urge to stay by her side was strong, overwhelming. F*ck, that was why our bond was a curse, the pack was being under attack and all I could think about was her. I shook my head and stood up with a jolt, putting on my clothes, leaving the room without looking back. If I looked back, I would have stayed to be her shield. I was the Black Alpha, the one destined to rule over all Packs of North America and I had to behave as such. I was ready to fight and to kill.
