4. The Big Bad Alpha

*Trigger Warning: Slap*   Iris   I braced myself expecting his lethal bite but it never came. Instead of that, Sapphire and I felt part of his weight being lifted and my wolf opened her confused eyes.  He was hovering over us in his human form, his grey eyes looking intently into Sapphire’s eyes. His strong jaw was clenched angrily and his thick black brows were furrowed at my wolf and me.  I had never seen him this close before and it brought me not only dread but also some sort of thrill. He was handsome and deadly, in equal amounts.  “Shift now, Iris!” he commanded and I did it immediately, inadvertently. I couldn’t resist his Alpha’s authority.  Soon, my naked body was wriggling under Alpha’s Zack weight. “Will you kill me, Alpha?” My quivered voice was quiet, almost inaudible. “You are mine. Mine to kill, to f.uck, and to punish. And I’ve decided to punish and f.uck you. Don’t push your luck ever again!” he lashed out, his deep baritone laced with anger and his eyes narrowed at me. He leaned back and when I was trying to sit up, I was surprised by a rough slap on my face, which made me fall against the cold ground.  I flinched, my hand roaming up to my face to wipe the warm crimson liquid oozing from the corner of my mouth. He stood up and narrowed his eyes at my paralyzed, shocked form.  “Stand up now and never dare to challenge me again, Little White Wolf.” I swallowed hard, nodding at his words as my mind swirled with thoughts, I couldn’t stop trying to think about a way out. A way towards freedom, which I had so close I could even feel but was now lost. The sky over me looked darker, grey and the little beam of the sun seemed to hide once again. The Alpha stood tall and very close to me, close enough for me to feel the warm waves of wrath radiating from his naked body.  He looked very menacing, his broad shoulders, rippled muscles, and potent figure towered over me even after I stood up. Alpha Zack reached through my bag and threw my coat for me to catch.  As soon as I had it on, he tossed me over his shoulders and his large palm burned into my butt with a loud and very rough spank. “You will learn your place in no time, Little White Wolf.” Tears stung in my eyes; this couldn’t be it. I couldn’t spend the rest of my life as the toy of this cruel man. His legs moved very fast, but his hold on me was tight. Every time I hissed or wriggled, the bare, and sensitive,  skin on the back of my thigh was met with a powerful spank.  After a few minutes of running through the snow, he stopped and I opened my moistened eyes. Tall pines still could be seen everywhere, we were still not close to the border, he leaned down and threw me to the rear seat of an SUV, making me gasp and try to sit up. But before I could move, he lifted my legs and sat by my side. He didn’t say anything and that seemed to only add anxiety to my already over-stretched nerves. I sucked a lungful of air in surprise, my startled eyes fixed on him, trying to read, to predict his next move. He collected my spread body, placed me on his lap and I tensed. All my muscles went stiff as my mind got hazy. Would he force himself onto me? Here in the car with the Beta seating on the driver seat?  My lip started quivering and I wanted to move, to fight, to say something. But I was petrified as if I could only watch everything happening from above and couldn’t help myself.  “Alpha, you…” Beta Grey started.  “Drive! I don’t want to hear a word!” The Alpha cut him off and he started driving. Alpha Zack kept me under his possessive hold but he didn’t hurt me or even touch me for the matter. A sigh of relief escaped my lips, maybe Zita was right and he wasn’t the monster everyone painted. Maybe once he was calmer, I could talk to him and convince him to give up on this mating.  “I will try to talk to his wolf,” Sapphire chimed in.  “That seemed like a good plan,” I tried to convince my wolf and myself. We drove back to the packhouse in complete silence, the only thing close to any noise was the vibration of his chest, which I could feel against my back. It felt like a piercing growl was building up inside of him.  When we arrived at the packhouse, he threw me over his shoulder once again and climbed the stairs with long and hurried strides. My eyes met the surprised glances of the omega staff, but they averted their gazes as fast as their eyes landed on me, surely trying to avoid the Alpha’s wrath.  Finally, he threw me on a large bed and a piercing growl left his throat, his eyes were glowing menacing; man and wolf radiated rage, whilst my heart raced in my chest and my breath accelerated, coming out in short gasps, just like the breath of prey.  “Right now, your friend and the South Border patrollers are being whipped because of you.” He sounded surprisingly calmer.  I sat up on the edge of the bed and tilted my head up. “It wasn’t their fault, it’s all on me, please… I can undertake their punishment instead,” I said, trying to meet his eyes, but I couldn’t hold his gaze. His wrath was burning through me and his Alpha’s aura demanded me to submit, to bare my neck for him.  “Shut up!” he growled, placing his heavy hands on my shoulders and looking into my eyes. “Wash yourself now!” he ordered, looking between me and a door on the left. It must be the bathroom.  I nodded and stood up with a jump going to the large bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror and gulped hard. I was pale, almost livid and I didn’t know if it was out of cold or fear. Probably both, but I would make myself warmer and braver, I decided, inhaling a lungful of air and washing my face.  I walked to the walking-in shower and let the warm water comfort me, washing over my trembling cold body. I gulped hard, wishing I could do something for Zita and the guards. I couldn’t do anything, I was powerless. I sighed, my chest tightening. Maybe Colton could help them. Yes, that was the only option.  “Colton,” I mind-linked him.  “Goddess, Iris! You are alive, I was so afraid, I was literally eating my nails up… are you hurt? What happened? Where are you? Wait, have you even left the pack? How can you still mind-link me?” he asked without even catching a breath.  “I don’t know how I can mind-link you. I am… fine. Don’t worry about me, that isn’t the point now. Can you check on Zita and the guards, especially her? Can you try to do something about it, they are being punished now. They didn’t do anything wrong, Colton. It shouldn’t be happening.”  “I will try,” he exhaled sharply through our mind-link, “Where are you, pup? I heard that the Alpha was hunting you. Are you safe?” “I think so,” I didn’t know the answer myself, and I feared for my safety now. But he wouldn’t kill me, he left this part clear, “I am at the packhouse.” About to become Alpha’s prey, I sighed.  I heard a loud knock on the door, “Come out in five minutes, or I’ll assume you need help washing yourself,” the Alpha growled, making my breath hitch in my throat.  I let the warm water wash the soap away and dried myself as quickly as I could. Looking around, I realized that the only clothing I had was my coat.  I put it on and looked at myself in the mirror for an instant, combing my hair onto my back with my fingers. “You can do it, you can survive anything that comes your way,” I gave myself this speedy pep-talk and Sapphire howled in my mind, sending me some reassurance. I hope she was indeed a blessed wolf and the Goddess would protect us.  I left the bathroom and before I could take any step further, the Alpha grabbed me by my arms, he jerked my body slightly making me look at him, for the first time I truly held his gaze for more than a couple of seconds. There was a fire in his eyes, anger, maybe even madness, his intense grey gaze burning holes in me.  Fear, anxiety, and something else sparkled through my body. Was this something desire? Was I going insane?
