Aiden's first instinct was to protect his mother. He saw the blade flash before his eyes, and his animal instinct surged forward, his eyes trained on the man who was running at them.
In a split second, he lunged directly at him, knocking him to the side and punching him square on the jaw. The man cried out as he slammed his head against the wall, and Aiden immediately twisted his hand so he dropped the knife.
