Chapter Sixty-One. Mars. “Mars, HELP!” My mate's mind link screams at me, panic evident in every syllable. Before I can think, Ares has turned from scent-marking a tree on the lower edge of the land he has claimed for his own and is running as fast as he can back towards the holiday park. My heart is pounding in my chest as my mind fills with horrific images. Everything from our son not being as healed as we thought, to rogues attacking my family. Fear begins to consume me, pushing Ares's paws to pound the ground, harder, and faster. I do not even blink as we cross onto the holiday park, however, hearing the sound of kids playing in the distance brings me back to my senses. “Keep in the hedgerow,” I command Ares, hoping that at the very least my wolf can have some semblance of cove
