Chapter Fifty-Five – Max.
Mammy and Daddy are going out without me! Mammy never goes anywhere without me. I think I am a little sad inside about that.
“Max, it is good that mammy and daddy go out together. It helps with their bond,” Thrax tells me.
I guess I don’t know what this bond really is. Thrax tells me things, some of it I do not understand. Like why my mammy and daddy want to go out without me. Why does that make their bond better? I mean, I do not climb into their bed every night now. That was to make them have a better bond and to mate. Whatever ‘Mate’ means. Apparently, it is when a mammy and daddy love each other very much, and they make a baby together. But I have let them sleep without me for two nights and nobody has brought them a baby.
