The innocent church girl.

Chapter 1 In a village called kinale lived a middle class family.The family called Wanjiru's family.The parents despite of their financial status worked Soo hard to ensure their kids set their foot to school.It was a big family consisting of 11 children 5 daughters and 6 sons . Though some people wondered how it was possible to have such a large family.The funny part was during the serving of the food the way the plates were arranged could make someone think that there were guests around or a party.The mother who people had a tendency of calling her mama John must have been a strong woman as she never gave up on carrying her house hood chores. Early in the morning she woke up to prepare the breakfast for her children.She had to ensure the homework was done and that the uniforms were in good condition.After the children were off to school she would start with house chores .Make sure the animals had food and their places were clean .Then she would go to the garden to cultivate her land .This was her daily routine as her husband used to come only on weekends.He worked in Nairobi city as he had to look for income to pay school fees for his children. At crossroads primary school is where the children used to school.Ann who was 11 yrs was in grade 7 she was a bright girl in class.Ann was a pretty girl who had a round face and a beautiful birthmark which made her even more prettier .The teachers liked her as she was a kind hearted girl.She was also known to be the cleanest girl in school and received prizes of been the cleanest in school.She also received prizes of been the smartest girl in her academics.This made all the learners to like her especially boys which made her a little bit shy. Back at home life was not that easy .Ann and her siblings had to assist their mother in the garden after school and also help in feeding the livestock.This is where they used to get their daily bread .After that they would stay with their mother in the kitchen as she was cooking with firewood and do their homework from the light coming from the fire.Their mother encouraged them to work smart inorder to live a better life in future and also give their mother a decent life. Joseph who was the last born boy was so funny .while the others were busy doing their homework he would get carried out by the fire flames later he would just sleep on his book and start snoring.When the food was ready they would all pack their books ready to have their meals . 'Joseph.....the food is ready wake up'the mother called him.The elder siblings would assist Joseph to pack his books on his bag .They prayed for their food then waited for their mother to serve them food.One thing about this family it was a Christian based family .This made the children in this family to be well behaved.After few minutes the food had been served and they took turns and took their food .They ate slowly as they listened to their mother narrating to them her sweet stories. Chapter 2 It was a sunny day Ann and her siblings were at school,their mother was busy working in her garden.Oooh!there was a cold atmosphere something un usual was happening.Their father had returned from the city after a long time.He started quarreling their mother for no reason.He called her names and accused her for been illiterate.This continued until it reached a point where he started beating her.Ooh! The innocent poor mother,she cried loudly asking his husband why he was Soo un human and what sin she had committed to deserve such hursh treatment."woman shut up you have to right to question me',he replied.The poor woman just packed her farm tools and walked slowly with her weak home and went home.She had Soo much pain in her body yet alot of chores were still awaiting for her.She decided to take a nap to ease her pain and wake up later to continue with the rest of the work. It was at 4 o'clock,there was noise from outside.The noise woke the Ann's mother she had overslept .It was Ann and her siblings who had just arrived from school they were suprised to find their mother sleeping at that time.'hello children how was school today ",She said smiling."It's was fine mum we had much fun"."But mum are you sick ?why were you sleeping at this time?"Ann asked."No I just got Soo tired and decided to rest".Ann and her siblings loved their mother Soo much she was the best mum ever.Suddenly they dad walked in ,oooh they were all suprised to see him and rushed to hug him they had missed their dad."Hello dad when did you come ?"Joseph asked.Sweets I need my sweet he knew everytime their parents came from a journey they had to bring him a sweet and for sure the sweet was available.He had a sweet for everyone of them and finally Joseph was satisfied and thanked the dad."How is school are you doing well in your academics?"their dad asked.They looked at each other and remembered the headteacher had said if they fail to go with the school fees they had to stay at home."Dad we are doing great in school but the only problem is the issue of the school fees , from tomorrow we may end up been sent at home".Ann said."There is no ? money where do that teacher expect us to get the money from?"He responded hurshly.Ann and her siblings just walked out they had never seen their dad like that, something might be bothering him and how comes he came back home without money.Everytime he returned home he always had money to pay for their school fees and boost their mother in buying the food staffs.This round he only gave them the sweets .They checked their mothers cupboard where she stored her food staffs and it was completely empty.what were they even going to eat that night they wondered.Something was completely wrong. Ann...........it was her mum calling from the cowshed she was milking the cows."Take a basket go to the garden and bring cassava and some vegetables".Okay mum,I hurried as it was getting late mum had forgotten to carry things she needed from the garden that day.But one thing about their mum she always had something in mind to give their kids ,they never went a day without a meal.She worked very hard to ensure the garden had enough food to sustain her family.Ann carried enough cassava and vegetables to ensure that her mother dint have to come for more even the following day.She hurried back home as it had started been dark already and she feared walking down the bushes.The young men had a habit of hiding in the bushes waiting for young girls to pass bye .They would then compete who will be a lucky man to have the most beautiful girl as their best friend this thing made Ann scared as she was a shy girl and dint really know how to behave in such a situation.Luckly no man appeared from the bush that day it's only the voice of birds could be heard maybe getting into their nests to sleep.She arrived at her home safely.Her mum was waiting for her she needed to start preparing for dinner immediately to give her children before it was Soo late .Ann assisted her mum in pealing off the cassava and later went to do her homework.Ann was a very hardworking girl and obedient,her mother loved her for that .Her teachers too loved her and was doing very well in her academics. Chapter 3 Ann needed to change her family.She had grown up seeing her mum struggle Soo much to raise them up.Her had though had not said a word seemed to be financially poor .She sat next to her mum cooking and did her homework.She had noticed her mum had something bothering her the time she found her sleeping after school.But her mum had a way of putting a smile despite of what she was going through she was the best and kind woman ever.Ann completed to do her homework and went to guide and help her siblings with their homework as well.Ann was a bright student and needed her young siblings to do well in their studies as well.Her mum looked at her from a far distance and smiled.She said to herself am lucky to have such a daughter.A beautiful, responsible and loving daughter.Every mother would be proud to have such a daughter."Hello dinner is ready pack your books in the bag and come in the dinning room",their mother said.Ooh there was such a delicious smell all over the compound.Their mother was the best chef ever.Their dad who was silent for a long time couldn't help .He was just salivating from a far ,he asked is that smell coming from the neighborhood?No dad it's from our kitchen Joseph responded,our mum cooks delicious meal every day she is a good chef let's go in the dinning room and eat dad.He smiled and followed the small boy .Ann's mum served them all enough food that could satisfy them.Ann prayed for the food as it was their habit it was a Christian family.Then they all began to eat.The food was Soo yummy in a way that they barely talked only the sound of spoons could be heard.Once they dad was satisfied he finally opened up.He apologized to his wife for his early strange behaviour.He said he had just lost his job and that bothered him Soo much and also apologized to his children for been Soo harsh after they raised the issue of the school fees.He promised to take them to school the following day and pay part of the school using the remaining savings that he had.They all smiled and hugged their dad and told him sorry for losing his job and that things would be alright and would secure a new job soon.Their mum too hugged him she was over joyed to see her family United and happy again.It was the best evening ever for Wanjiru's family.It was late and people were sleepy they all went to sleep as they had to go to school the following day. Rrrrrrrrrr!rrrrrrrrrr!rrrrrrrrrr! The alarm could be heard ringing from the sitting room.It was 5 O'clock in the morning.Ann's mum woke .She always woke up before the rest of the family to prepare them breakfast and ensure the house was clean.She headed direct to the kitchen,made the tea and later prepared some pancakes her children loved the pancakes for breakfast.After 30 minutes she had prepared the breakfast and she woke the rest of the family to prepare to go to school.She woke her husband as well to take a shower before he could take his breakfast.At exactly 6.30 a.m in the morning the whole family was set they took their breakfast together.They all seemed happy and ready for the day.They then headed for school and said bye to their mother. In a twinkle of an eye they were at school already.Ann's dad went direct to the headteacher's office and Ann and her siblings went to their various classes."Good morning Mwalimu",Ann'dad greeted the headteacher."Good morning too how are you doing",the headteacher responded.It had been a long time since Ann's dad was seen in that school.He had even stopped picking up the school phones .The headteacher thought was Soo suprised to see him ,he even thought he was dreaming to see him that early in the morning in his office."I have come here due to the huge fee balance that I have ,I want to reduce the fee balance",Dad's Ann said."It's okay you can send through our school playbill",the headteacher said.He paid and was relieved as his children would now do their studies without been sent home.The headteacher thanked him.
