“Are you always this bossy?”
“I want an answer, Abby,” he demands.
“Does it matter?” I find my voice, and I feel confident in my words.
“That’s not an answer, Abby. I need you to be honest with me. If I’m closer to you, do you feel something? If you look at me in the eye, do you see me? When I touch you like this, do you feel warmth deep inside?” He holds my hand while his thumb traces my skin in a feathery touch. “Do your heart beat fast? Do you feel a butterfly in your stomach? Are you attracted to me?” It feels so good, and I’m melting inside. I feel limp, and when I open my mouth, no words are coming, and I have to close back.
“Don’t. You answered them already.”
