10 BUCK I loved holding her throughout the night, pulling her much smaller body against my chest and keeping her there. She snuggled into my arms, falling asleep, and snored softly. I found it comforting. It was a long way from Afghanistan. No artillery. No choppers. No mortars. No bullets whizzing by. Peace. Since Roxy started sleeping in my bed, my sleeping hours got longer and longer. She turned away from me in the morning; her face cast in shadows from the light peeking through the window. I placed a kiss on the slope of her shoulder, and she moaned in her sleep. Delicious. I’d known since forever I’d make Roxy my wife. Wouldn’t ask her yet, though.
