Callista called me to say she would be off for a few days, but I didn’t expect her to be out for a week. Carlyle and the rest of the witches have been helping me in the shop. It was hectic, but we’re pulling it off. Emir has been especially helpful. I think Dila likes him, too.
“How was Callista?” I asked, knowing that Carlyle went to check on Callista before she got here.
She heaved a sigh. “Well, she’s sober when I went to her house so I think that was a good thing.”
