The Black Magicians did not wear great robes in the chamber, each of them either dressed in their military finery or they wore clothes as befitting their station; all in all, there were some very fine suits on show. These men took up position behind their seats, and waited. There was a rustle, then the servants appeared. The ghost children of the Reich, replete in their Hitler Youth uniforms, glided out of the darkness and pulled the chairs out for their masters. First, the Master of the Order took his seat at the head of the table, then the rest of the men took theirs. The ghost children floated among them, bringing refreshments and lighting candles.
