June 15 2018, Jersey. The jagged trident of lightning tore across the deep indigo of the night sky, turning the world into a vivid black and white negative. Mother Nature was having a hissy fit. Her second destructive white flash of atmospheric anger caused the island of Jersey to jump out of the darkness for a split second, then disappear twice as quickly. The angry little storm passed on into the dark of the night, drifting away into the distance diminishing slowly, and shifting from side to side like a drunken man’s ravings as the bell sounded for closing time.
