Luca's POV
As I push the front doors open I take a deep breath of the cold night air. Closing my eyes, images of that fateful night come rushing back at me.
***Two years ago***
Reed and I were training in an open field a few yards away from the pack house. As the future Alpha I always took my training seriously. Reed and I grew up together and we were best friends, so naturally, he would be my beta. I take a defensive stance as Reed comes at me with a combination of punches. I deflect them one by one when a flash of something I see at the corner of my eye has me glancing to my right. Momentarily distracted, two of Reed's jabs hit me square in my ribs and I double over from the contact.
