I open my eyes and stare at my bedroom ceiling as Eliza's words rang in my mind. She didn't say more because a nurse entered the office at that moment to let us know that Ethan regained consciousness.
The news that Ethan was awake distracted everyone from Eliza's revelation but those words stuck with me well into the night. My mind kept thinking about what it actually meant. The fact that Eliza and I were connected on a deeper note had me somewhat uneasy.
