Ezra I watched as Amelia fell almost immediately to sleep. A light snore falls out of her, and I chuckle. Chico yips and tries to get onto the bed. I pick him up, and he runs to Amelia and curls beside her. I go to kiss her, and the chihuahua growls. “Can I kiss her, please?” I ask the tiny dog. He stares at me with those big black eyes. I lean in to kiss Amelia and lightly touch the dog’s head. “Thanks.” Chico makes a little growl noise and then inches closer to Amelia. I look out the window to see my parents’ limo driving away from the house. I feel bad that the weekend started so bad. I hate that my parents are so mad at me. But I am tired of being told how to live and whom to live it with. I glance at Amelia, and she has her arm around Chico. I leave the room and make my way down
