CHAPTER 3 Jensen made his way across town, not happy that he had no shoes. That was the one thing he hadn’t been able to snatch from the doctor’s lounge back at the hospital. He shivered just thinking about it. Gods, he hated hospitals. They smelled funky and people were sick or injured there and were at their weakest. Vulnerable. Not a good place to be. Well, if you were sick or injured it was a great place to be to get help, but not a good place to be for protection against all the things that went bump in the night. And all the weird sounds that filled the mind with what was making them. Like that air blowing sound followed by a thunk that just repeated over and over. What the hell was that?
