My alarm went off sooner than I would have liked, but the sooner I got today over with, the better. Rolling over slowly, I made sure not to wake Jay up as I climbed out of bed and covered her back up. Grabbing my pillow, she buried her face into it. By the time I had showered and dressed, she had spread across the bed, taking control of the whole queen-sized bed. If I had planned to climb back in bed, there would have been no room to do so. I left her a small note on the side table next to her phone, letting her know I would be back later if she needed anything. Cookie would be close by all day.
