Chapter 9

Asher Ghourd's POV A smile remained on my lips as I drove to the hospital to see and watch over my comatose wife. I know I shouldn't be happy because of her condition, but I can't help it. Who wouldn't be pleased if my baby girl made me happy every day? I licked my lips and could still taste his delicious juice like honey. Ever since my daughter was born, every time I saw her, the beautiful shape of his body, her gentle and beautiful face, the sudden growth of his chest and behind, my mind and my body were filled with desire, the desire to make him mine. Every time she would greet me when I came home tired from work, serving me, taking care of me, all of that touched my heart. I never thought I would love my daughter more than she is my child. I know it's wrong, but I can't help it, especially since my wife and I always fight. After all, we were forced to get married because I got her pregnant. I loved her then, but we weren't ready. But I am very thankful when Orange came into our lives. She was such a sweet little kid, and she was the reason we were happy. It was only temporary because as time went on, Elise became cranky, especially back then when we only had enough money for every day. Until I got lucky in our business, I was making a lot of money, and I thought my relationship with my wife would be happy again, but it turned out to be worse. She is always away from home, always asks for money, shopping, and travels with her rich friends. Not a day goes by that we don't fight. Autumn is grown up and blessed her heart, she cares for me at home. She filled Elise's shortcomings, and I didn't realize I wanted her or loved her. Every night before I go to sleep, I think about her. I want to own and please her, fill her body, heart, and soul with only desire for me. No one else, no other man, will be a part of her life but me. And now, I will ensure that no one can destroy our new life, not even my wife. When I got to the hospital, I met the father of one of my daughter's friends. He is an internal medicine doctor. He wasn't there yesterday, so he didn't know what happened. He only found out when my wife's attending physician consulted him a while ago. We said hello, and he said that his daughter was out of town with his mother. After that, I said goodbye and went straight to the ICU. I caught up with the doctor there. I asked how Elise was doing, but he said there was still no improvement. If she doesn't wake up later, it looks like she's gone. Wearing a scrub suit, mask, gloves, and goggles, they let me into the private ICU room. I approached my wife with many wires and equipment attached to her. I sighed and looked at the monitor, where I could see her heartbeat, and she seemed to be sleeping soundly. "Elise, it hurts me to see you like this," I said sadly. "The doctor said that you have a small chance of survival, and he said that even if you are unconscious now, you will still hear me so . . .” I sighed. "I'm just going to beg you now, let go. You're only getting hard on yourself, and seeing you this way is tough for me. I don't even want our daughter to hope you will wake up." I grabbed her hand and squeezed it, then grinned. "Let Orange and I be free. I am grateful that you gave her to me. Even though I suffered with you and forced our marriage, in return for that is your beautiful daughter. The only thing you should do while hiking is to fall off a cliff and die accidentally. But now look at you, do you still want to live?" I laughed a little and brought my face closer to her. "I want Orange all for myself, honey, and I want us to be free. I have no choice but to get rid of you again if you're going to live." Suddenly, the machines rang, and her hand moved to hold me tightly. Her eyes also opened, rolling while looking at me. I smiled sweetly at her while caressing her face. "Honey, are you awake?" Her body trembled, and her eyes turned white. The noise continued throughout the room. My face is sad as the nurses and doctor enter the room. The nurses forced me out, and when I was outside, I took a deep breath and secretly smiled. Almost one hour passed when the doctor came out and sadly told me my wife was gone forever. My problem is over. How Autumn will react when I say her Mommy is gone worries me. I took my phone and immediately called her. 5 Days Later I am now taking care of the guests at the house after my Mommy's funeral, and my friends who are also with their parents are helping me to handle things. I accepted when my Mommy was gone because we went to the hospital after Daddy called me. I cried a lot when I saw her not breathing. I can't believe what happened because she seems to have so much fun. I even helped her pack for her hiking, which ended up like this. Fortunately, Daddy was always there for me. He never left me and even took a leave from work. He also always said that I was innocent and that maybe it was better for her to go than to suffer anymore. That's why when she was buried, I let her go. Honestly, I don't feel her absence because she is always not here at home. She only comes home when she wants to or runs out of money. Call me an insensitive child, but I am not that sad. I was at first because I couldn't believe it. Now, I feel free. We are free. Holding the tray with juice and snacks, I headed to Daddy's home office, where he and Aunt Linzy talked. When I was in front of the door, I noticed it was slightly open and heard their voices. I would have avoided it, but I was curious about their discussion. I couldn't bear to eavesdrop on them, even if it was wrong. “You don't need to thank me, Asher. We both benefited from her loss." I heard from Aunt Linzy. "Still, what you did was risky. I've already transferred your money to your account. You can start again," said Daddy. I frowned and wondered what they were talking about. Is it about Mommy? "Thank you, this is a big help for me. It's all Elise's fault, too. I have no regrets for pushing her over the cliff. She was sleeping with my husband behind my back. How dare she consider me as her best friend if she’s f*cking my own husband? She deserved it, and I thought she would live, though." I was stunned and almost let go of what I was holding. In that case, it wasn't an accident. And Daddy has something to do with that?! “You are right. We will both benefit from it. Orange and I are free now.” I heard Aunt Linzy laugh.
