Staying here wouldn’t help him with the Winter Crest, but it would at least help him stall out the inevitable consequences.
Morozko sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. He was beginning to look weary, and Jack perked up—that could be a good sign.
“Look, if you just let me stay here with you,” he began, hoping that he might be able to slip in under the radar, but Morozko cut him off with a strangled sound.
“Oh no, you are not staying here,” Morozko snarled, firmly shaking his head in denial.
“Well, where else am I supposed to stay?” Jack pouted, holding onto the door frame with a steely grip when Morozko tried to shove him out. “I don’t have any knowledge of the Human Realm. If I go off by myself, I could get robbed!”
