AUTHOR’S POV The world spins violently, a blur of steel, sky, and the vast ocean rushing up to meet Wade as he plummets. Hitting the water with a bone-jarring slap, the impact knocks the air out of his lungs, sending a sharp sting rippling through his body. For a brief moment, everything is in chaos as the cold water engulfs him, stealing his last few breaths. He is disoriented and has no idea which way is up or down. The sound of his own heartbeat echoes in his ears, mingling with the muffled roar of the ship cutting through the water, and the sheer magnitude of it is terrifying—an unstoppable wall of steel moving just out of reach.
