“Congrats!” I raised my champagne glass in the air and took a sip with my brothers, parents, McKayla, and Rena in the condo after we got back from getting a quickie marriage. McKayla looked a little sad while talking to Rena, and I knew it was from her parents not answering her calls.
“Any regrets?” Renato came from the kitchen with a bottle of whiskey and offered me a shot, which I took after sipping champagne.
“Weirdly no.”
“What about her folks?”
“What are you two talking about?” EJ yanked the bottle out of Renato’s hand.
“Any word on Tommaso and Alize siding with us?”
“From what Sante is saying, they’re not leaning toward your favor.”
“Maurizio is pissing me off.”
“He took the money but still wants to cause problems.”
