CHAPTER SEVEN God, she was cranky. Something must’ve made her that way. It took all kinds around here. They didn’t call it the Lost Coast for nothing, and it was common for people to live off the grid in the middle of nowhere. I knew it was old-fashioned, but for some reason her striking beauty made her extreme solitude more of an oddity. Why?
