Red The winter winds outside blew with a force that reminded him of the vicious winters back in the Underworld when cold and darkness covered everything and the only way to survive was to hide inside the thickest of walls. But here on the surface there were plenty of trees, and mountains, and there was life, to protect one's frozen bones from the freeze. Still, the song of the winds hit the naked branches of the larger trees outside, screamed through the chimneys and brought chills over Red’s exposed skin. Well, no one called him Red anymore, but he liked the sound of it in his mind. It was a reminder, a way never to forget his path of vengeance when all other reasons were gone and only the blind rage and hatred remained. Something to keep him anchored in these new tiring times.
