“Getting back to the World”

*Meadow*

I am so excited. As we get down from the plane, I see Cara and Alex waiting for us; she is looking gorgeous with her pregnant belly and a summer dress, he is looking radiant next to her. She almost runs to me and we hug tightly, barely, and I see Caleb shake Alex's hand and then hug.

"Welcome back Alpha, Luna." Cara starts and bows her head.

I laugh and shake my head. "Leave the formalities for another moment... how are you?"

"I am really well, not even having cravings for the moment." She smiles at me.

"May the Goddess help me when she starts getting them." Alex comments and we all laugh.

Caleb slides his arm around me and I smile. "So... what is our agenda?" I ask as I snuggle against him.

"We are going to your office first, then to the cemetery, and finally to the house. Tomorrow at noon we are taking a plane to our pack's home." Alex begins to give us our schedule and I can't help but to smile. They included a visit to my mom before we go home.

"Then let's get started" I say with excitement.

I can't hide the smile in my face as we drive towards my old office; we finally found a suitable replacement for my old job and she was perfect. Not only she was good at her job, but she also had a sparkly personality. It is fun to work with people that give a good vibe, and she excelled at that. Yes, she was a little weird too, only adding to her uniqueness. And I am all in for weird and unique personalities.

We arrive at the entrance of the building, our old territory of just 1 floor has now expanded to four, two of them being Caleb's new office in town. There are two pack members welcoming us and I smile at them as they bow their heads. 'You know there is no need for that, but thank you.' I send mentally to them, they smile and just stay silent, Caleb doesn't like my way of treating all in the same way.

As we go up the elevator, I squeeze Caleb's hand and he leans to kiss the top of my head. The doors open and I see the petite mighty force that is Viorra Madya Radalair shaking her head to one of the staff.

"Hell to the no... I would rather manage to get in one extra hour of work each day from monday to friday than working Saturdays." Her voice is like a playful mix of mischievousness and amusement all together. Even the staff chuckle and quickly go back to work. She turns around to look at us as we walk in and she grins waving a hand. "Welcome back, Boss M. and Boss C.!"

I laugh and shake my head, she always showed respect towards us but in her own way, Caleb found it amusing. "Hello Vi, I see you adjusted very well to the place." I say with a low chuckle.

"Hell yeah! These people are so cool to work with, I feel already at home." She beams her head and I smile.

"Hello Viorra, nice to see you again." Caleb smiles at her.

"It is always great to see you both, especially when everyone prepares as if the President is coming to visit. You two are big personalities." She grins and I can't help but to laugh again.

"Good, I prefer it that way." Caleb replies and takes her by surprise, her smile only fading slightly as she tries to figure if he is joking or being serious. Then he starts to chuckle and she releases some breath and laughs. He winks at her and I shake my head at him. My mate can play the same game and leave her on the edge.

Alex can't hold it anymore and laughs, making us turn to see him. He raises both hands. "Sorry..."

Cara elbows him and shakes her head. "No, you are not."

We all laugh again, and Caleb turns to cup my chin with a hand as he rests the other in my belly. "I will be just a floor down in case you need me." And then he kisses me softly, making me shiver and sigh.

"I love you." I whisper as we break the kiss.

He grins and rubs his nose against mine. "I love you too."

Then he turns around and walks away followed by Alex, Cara stays with me and Viorra guides us to the meeting room. Through the intercom she told Carter where we were, and not long after that he walks in to meet us.

"Meadow, welcome back... how was the honeymoon? Did you enjoy the location?" He rushes to hug me before I get up.

"Thank you Carter, we enjoyed our stay and it was magical. You really know the best places to be at for some good relaxing time." I smiled as he released me.

He turns around and smirks at Cara. "Hello again, Cara."

She grins and smiles sweetly. "Hello Carter, it is nice to see you too." She never changes, always defying him but in a friendly way, she knows she gets into his nerves, and he knows she does it on purpose, so it is a hostile friendship.

He rolls his eyes and looks at Viorra with a smile and a nod, then walks to my opposite side and takes a seat. "How is Caleb? I thought he was coming with you..."

"He is below us, probably spying us as we speak, hearing everything we say." I say with a grin, truth is he promised to give the meeting area some privacy, but it only took me a second to lift my walls and connect with him and he was going to be able to see and hear everything.

Carter chuckled and raised a hand to waive, looking around. "Hi back Caleb." We all laughed and relaxed.

The morning went by easily; most of what we discussed was how my incentive program was working and the new challenges. Viorra was excellent, and she handled most things perfectly well. She still said it would be wise to hire someone else to share the work with her, as sometimes, it became overwhelming. She even offered to share her salary to the new employee, to which Carter and I friendly refused.

"I can work fine most of the time, I am very organized at work... really, no one in my family would believe how organized I am here... but at the end of the month it is chaotic and I struggle to keep my sanity." She said.

"I think that is a good idea, Carter. After all, Gideon and I shared the work, in the same way Viorra could be the supervisor and we hire an apprentice or an assistant to help her." I say as I nod towards Viorra.

"Very well, let's make it happen. Can you come help her Meadow?" Carter asks as he gets up of his chair.

I sigh and shake my head. "I am sorry Carter, we already have other plans. I have to go back to Caleb's headquarters and have other meetings there as well. I can send someone to help though." My mind quickly going through who in our pack was in the city and could help.

Carter perked a brow. "Ok... I am listening, who are you going to send? Don't tell me is Cara..."

Cara laughed and Viorra chuckled. "I can do it alone, don't worry, really. You giving me the chance is already great enough for me." Viorra added.

I shake my head and smile. "Send a call on the right media and let me know when you are going to start doing interviews. I will send someone I trust."

Carter chuckles and shrugs. "Fine, you women do what you do best. I like my people happy and productive. Are you leaving soon Meadow?"

I nod. "Yes, I am leaving in a few minutes, we have to do an important visit."

Carter nods and smiles kindly, he knows what I mean. He learned of my monthly routine of visiting my mother and said he thought it was the most sweet gesture he ever seen. "Let me know when you are back with more time. Sheyla and I would love to invite you and Caleb for a dinner."

I smile brightly and nod. "You can be sure that we will let you know with time and we will be here with plenty of days to do different activities." I get up and Cara follows quickly, she has become an expert on moving around with that big belly, and I am still struggling with it.

"Let me walk you to the elevator." Carter says as he places a hand on my back kindly. He has become almost a father figure to me, a kind soul indeed.

When we reach the front door, Caleb stands smiling to us. Carter grins seen him and my mate extends his hand to shake his. "Nice to see you Carter, how have you been?"

"There you are Caleb... I didn't think you would be too far from your treasure."

They shake hands and as one releases me, the other one catches me. Alex walks from behind Caleb and takes Cara's hand softly.

We say our goodbyes and I hug Viorra, taking her by surprise. "I am sorry I can't be more helpful this time, but I promise I will find someone suitable to help. I will see you soon. Thank you for your great work here."

She giggles and blushes adorably. "Thank you Boss M. Have a safe trip."

I chuckle at her and decide to leave it at that. I hug Carter and give him a kiss on his cheek before we finally leave the building.

Once we are on our way to the cemetery, I sigh and look back at all the new memories I gathered in the past few months; the world for me has changed, and now everything looks brighter.
