FOURTEEN WARWICK, 2020 AD Jake’s breakfast was interrupted by insistent ringing at the doorbell. When he answered, microphones and smartphones were thrust in his face and he was bombarded with questions. He felt violated and disorientated. The press hounds wouldn’t let him close the door, using their superior collective weight to force him backwards. His only thought was to escape, and this he did by the surprise move of dashing to the bathroom and locking himself inside. He put the toilet lid down and sat, too shaken to think straight.
