EIGHT TOWTON, YORKSHIRE, PALM SUNDAY, 1461 AD Jake, back at the priory, sat in the cloister and, taking advantage of the peaceful surroundings, reflected on what he knew of the Red Horse Vale. He settled back with a contented sigh to ponder about the Middle Ages, where he now found himself. He recalled how the War of the Roses affected the destiny of those in the Vale. As he did so, the by now familiar sensation engulfed him in another dislocation. This time to a bloody battlefield, where he recognised the standard of the Earl of Warwick. Jake was becoming used to frequenting places of historic violence. Richard Neville was born on 22 November 1428, son of the Earl of Salisbury.
