CHAPTER LVI : DISCOVERING POWER

-Astral-

            Hi! My name is Astral Zurkarnain, I’m 19 years old. I was so excited when the Loft King told me that I will be going here to participate as the Air Hero. At first I can’t believe it and so as the others. Yes, that’s true. Others can’t believe and can’t still accept the fact that I was chosen to be the Air hero.

            Especially those male lofts who always look down on us females. Those guys who doesn’t trust us when it comes to powers and responsibility. I’m sick of all those things, us women are believed as worthless just because we are women. I pity those men who believe in that old and untrue principle.

            We women also have the right and the power to become strong and wise, and that’s what I proved to all of them. It’s so sad that even women see themselves as a person that has to be under a stronger man. Which is wrong. I hope every woman in this world sees themselves as treasure at the same time a poison.

            A treasure who is so precious and important that we shouldn’t be wasted and should be also valued. A poison that you wouldn’t want to mess with. After all we are women, we are queen of our own and no one can confine us.

            Back at my tribe, we had a completion so that we’ll know who will be sent here to become the Air hero. And you know what happened. Out of seven contestants, I was the only female. Everyone laughed at me and mocked just because I am a female that I shouldn’t be participating the competition and go home instead.

            But I prove them wrong, and here I am, learning everything I have to learn. I wasn’t wrong, it’s them. When I came here, I was so happy when I saw Zati, Eeya, Dafrosa, and Kurezma who are also females like me. I wish my tribe would be like them, no discrimination among women.

            Especially Zati, I don’t know the story but, come on man… as expected from the Longs, you would initially think that their Dragon hero would be a male, but no… we have Zati here, girl power yo! Ahahaha I mean, I can’t believe that a girl like her can overpower men in their tribe.

            By the way, fast forward to today… ahahaha Yesterday… oh wait, I just said today ahahahaha. No seriously, yesterday, the Ordo king was telling us about our strengths and our weaknesses. Yesterday we were just sitting inside a classroom, but now, we’re already here in a field. Physical training has started so that we would get stronger.

            If only I knew that we would only be staying in that room for two days, I should have enjoyed the most out of it while I was still there so that I won’t have any regrets ahahaha just kidding.

            Anyway… we’re now starting our training…

            “Hey Astral…” I heard someone calling me, I turned around to see who it is. It’s Dafrosa

            “Oh, hey… what is it?” I said asking her why she called me

            “Did you know that you’re the strongest among all the earth elements here?” she said. Yeah, of course I know. My teachers always say that, that’s why we lead the Earth elements here in Azhakkstadd and why they sustain us, Lofts.

            “Yea… I often hear that from our people, but in fact… I admit, I don’t know how powerful… like I don’t understand why” I told her while shaking my head off slowly

            “Wait… what?” she shrieked out “You don’t know? That’s odd… you know what, if only you know, then you could become even stronger” she added… yea, Dafrosa really is smart. Wait a minute, isn’t she a Dimian? That’s one of the Earth elements, how come she’s telling me that

            “Aren’t you a Dimian, why are you telling me this? Are you not afraid that I would overpower you?” I clarified everything with her

            “Yes I am, and no I’m not…” she initiated “I am a Dimian, I am from the Earth Kingdom but I am not afraid to be overpowered by Lofts and so as my people” she continued

            “Really?” I asked curiously and went nearer to her

            “Yea, why would we be afraid when you get stronger than us when you, Lofts, were naturally stronger than us. And we know when you become stronger you won’t use your power to destroy us. Lofts are always pure just like the air we breathe, let’s just not let it be polluted, right?” she explained briefly… and she’s right, she has a point ahahaha

            “So how do I know that?” I asked her again pertaining to being stronger

            “Just know how to use your power… like for example, you should know first why you are stronger” she answered, but I admit I didn’t understand her ahahaha does smart people always speak like this? They’re so undecipherable ahahaha

            “Ok, so miss smart girl, tell me” I demanded her to tell me and looked at her intently as I kept smiling ahahaha am I so demanding?

            “Tsk. Ok, let me teach you… but first, say please master” she rolled her eyes and then covered her mouth with her hand probably to prevent herself from laughing ahahaha what the heck

            “The heck’s your problem, but ok ahahahaha please master?” I said and started laughing and so is she ahahahaha this is so embarrassing yet so funny

            “Nothing… so listen to me carefully, ok?” she said as she stopped laughing “Air contains about 21 percent oxygen, and most fires require at least 16 percent oxygen content to burn, do you understand?” she added as she put her wrists on her waists as if she’s really a teacher

            “Oxygen supports the chemical processes that occur during fire. When fuel burns, it reacts with oxygen from the surrounding air, releasing heat and generating combustion products such as gases, smoke, embers, and so on. This process is known as oxidation.” She continued speaking and explained to me why air is important to have fire… now I get it

            “Does that mean, if I know how to control oxygen, then I could remove it from fires and then make the fire disappear? Is that it?” I asked her clarifying my thoughts

            “Exactly, sister! A fire cannot burn without oxygen. if you light a small candle and then put a clear glass upside-down over that candle without touching the flame, you can watch the flame slowly extinguish as it uses up all of the oxygen that you have trapped around it with the glass” she smilingly snapped agreeing with me as she winked at me

            “Wow…” I gasped as I heard what she said… she really is so smart, we need her to be part of our team to solve the problem here in our world

            “Water… water is made up of two hydrogen atoms bonded to an oxygen atom. Still made up by oxygen, and we all know that hydrogen is also a gas, so if you remove any of those, water won’t be created” she then explained why water needed air to it

            “And again, if I know how to control it, I can make it, right?” I added to what she’s saying

            “Woah… woah, now I’m getting intimidated ahahaha now you know, you’ll even get stronger” someone suddenly interrupted and cut himself off, it’s Zexal, the Water hero… just as we are speaking about water ahahaha

            “Don’t worry I haven’t learned it yet and if I’ll learn it, I’m not gonna use it on you, you’re not an enemy ahahaha” I answered him assuring him

            “Yea, I know I’m just joking here ahahahaha” he said between his laughter

            “I know that too ahahahaha just shut up ok? We’re discussing something, go and train yourself more, so that when I finally learn it, you’ll stand a chance from me ahahahaha” I told him

            “Earth and some Earth metals also needs air. For example, macro and micro minerals’ essential nutrients include oxygen” she continued and explained compact and briefly why earth also needed oxygen             “Then of course, ice… you know what ice is made of right? From water… if there’s no water there’s no ice. Also if there’s no cold air, water won’t freeze… basic ahahaha” she added  

            “Does that mean I can eliminate everything what you do when I learn how to do it already? Like, when you use your power on me, I would just use mine to keep you from doing it? Like that?” I asked her after she explained about the Earth and Earth metals, she is a Dimian after all

            “Yes, probably… it depends on you, it depends on how you use it. You can either lessen the impact or if you really master it, then you can make it like that” she answered me as she shrugged implying that she doesn’t know either

            “Next, Lightning… but really you can’t, that takes a lot of process ahahaha lightning occur when frozen raindrops bump into each other and release electrical charges.” She then said

            “So only the Breens can make the thunder disappear like how you do it to other elements… and you can also do it by making the water disappear so that there will be no frozen droplets bumping into each other” she continued

            “I like what you said in that part ahahaha” Eeya said as she stood next to me while she kept her gaze upon Dafrosa “If I can’t stand Astral, then at least I can be of the same standing as she is towards others ahahaha” Eeya said jokingly and turned her face to Ashtan, the Thunder hero, who’s busy training with Kurezma.

            “Yea if you’ll also learn how to separate your power from other elements…” Dafrosa replied to Eeya and then she turned to me “So did you understand everything that I have said to you?” she asked me and I just nodded at her as an answer

            “I really hope you will learn it… I would be very proud to be the one telling you that.” She added and smiled at me

            “I hope too… let’s start training then ahahahaha let’s waste no time” I said and walked with the two of them towards the field

            “Yea let’s go… I’ll stick with you two” Eeya said while we were walking
