A Gallant Rescue
If someone had asked him, Raedrick would not have believed it possible that he could spend a comfortable night, and get a good night’s sleep, up on that mountain.
But once they got the dogs inside and lit the fire, the cavern became positively warm and festive. Povol not only had mead but also food stocked up, and very shortly they had full bellies and warm bodies. It was not long before Raedrick became extremely drowsy. He had the presence of mind to think it would be wise to set a watch, but before he could say anything about it he succumbed to the fatigue of a restless night followed by a vigorous day.
