Chapter 3The Duke took Selina by the hand and went to the edge of the roof.
As he had expected, the roofs in the souk either touched each other or were so near that it was easy to leap from one to the other.
Fortunately it was early in the year and he could not see anyone sleeping out, as they would when the weather was hot.
He turned to the side where the houses were built on the down slope of the hills and stepped past the pot plants and over the parapet onto the next housetop, then hurrying across the flat surface, he pulled Selina onto the next.
