He had been totally infatuated, entranced and even bemused by beautiful women. Yet at the back of his mind he knew that this was not the love that had inspired men since the beginning of civilisation, the love that they had been tortured and even killed for. And to them love was an ideal that they could not ignore. The Earl drove his team up the long drive with tall lime trees on either side of it. He reflected that one day it would be all his and it meant a great deal to him. In fact it meant more every time he came home. The house itself was so beautiful.
