GABRIEL I could hear it. The unmistakeable sounds of gunshots. I didn't need to open my eyes to know that it was nowhere near dawn in anyway. I opened my eyes slightly, and out of instinct, stayed perfectly still as I was trained to do. But a good look around my bedroom told me that there was no one lurking around in the room, ready to pounce on me or kill me. In fact, I counted exactly two minutes and frowned, confused on whether I had been dreaming, or had imagined the gunshots. Being twenty years old and still obsessed with shooting games were certainly taking a toll on me. Just to be sure though, I stayed another minute, and then pulled my duvet back up to go back to sleep, when I heard the gunshots again, followed by a chilling scream.
