2214 Words

I don’t know for how long we’re already walking, but I already feel exhausted. My focus was on everything I could possibly think of, hiding places behind the trees, on top of trees, inside bushes. And I don’t even want to start talking about possible traps. I can’t count the times I thought I saw something laid out for us and it turned out to have a perfectly ordinary explanation.   I dare to take a moment and share a few looks with the others. In the short time that I stare into their eyes, I realize they’re all feeling pretty much the same as I am. We’ve been at this for too long. It’s a wonder we haven’t fallen into a trap already or seen someone lurking at us in the shadows.   Silver, we need a break. None of us can go on like this anymore. We’ll only write ourselves up for trouble
