Chapter 4

When I was in my car, I call Sean he's in my tribe. He's also the Realtor that had the listing of my princess house. I ask him to meet me at Applebee's. I was hungry after sitting in a tree all day, and I left home before I ate.

"Hey Kalani, what can I do for you?" Sean asks

"Do you want anything to eat?" I asked him while taking a bite out of my burger

"I just finished eating when you called," Sean sits down.

"Sorry to bother you at home. I want to know about the peoples that bought the Big Claw Mountain Ranch." I said taking another bite out of my burger

"The Westlakes. Her name is Nia Westlake, 18 years old. " Sean said nodding his head

"Is she married?" I ask sipping on my Coke

"No, is just her and her two sisters," Sean said looking at me

"Sisters," I said with a massive smile on my face, nodding my head

"Yea, her mother passed away not long ago. She lost her father some years back. She paid cash for the house." Sean said looking at me with a puzzled look

"She did?" I said taking another sip of my Coke

"Yeah man, she did," Sean said still looking at me

"Thank you," I said smiling

"It's anything wrong?" Sean asks looking at me concerned

"No, not at all. She's my Soulmate." I said looking at him

Sean belongs to my tribe. He found his soulmate when he turned twenty.

"Are you serious?" Sean asks, smiling at me

"Yea, man," I said smiling.

"Does she know?" Sean asks me

"No, not yet, Don't tell anyone yet," I said, eating some french fries.

"Kalani, you know I wouldn't say anything. Congratulations!" Sean said smiling

"Thanks, man," I said smiling.

"Well, I better be heading home," Sean said nodding his head still smiling walking away

Once I finished eating, I decided to check on her one last time before calling it a night. I couldn't get her off my mind. I drove my car back to my house. Then I shift and start flying over the woods toward her home. I heard a gunshot. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I was trying to make it to Nia's. When her house came into view. I saw the light in her bedroom come on. Then everything went dark.

"Nia"

I woke up, and I heard a gunshot. For some reason, I felt a sense of loss. I put on a pair of yoga pants. Mia ran into my bedroom with a rifle in her hand. "Mia, that gunshot sounded close. I am going outside to look around." I said, looking at her.

She hands me my phone and my rifle from beside the mattress. I told her to stay inside.

"I will be standing by the front door looking out the window. I am going to call you in ten minutes if you're not back, I'm coming to look for you.."Mia said,

I walk into the barn to get my horse. I named her sss. Something is drawing me to ride to the tree that I saw the limb something moving in earlier.

Once I reach the tree I hear a moan. I look around for the sound. That's when I see Hercules naked as the day he was born. He is also bleeding. I called Mia, telling her to let her know "that I found Hercules and he was hurt. I was bringing him back to the house." I also told her, "to bring me a sheet to cover him up."

It took me a few minutes to get him on sss. Once I got him sitting on sss, I climbed behind him, riding as fast as sss could go. Boy, she can run.

Mia runs out hands me a sheet, with her eyes closed. I wrap it around him, covering his naked body. She helps me get him off the horse. Mia takes sss to the barn to put her up.

Hercules is going in and out. He looks at me, smiles, and said, "you're mine." He passes out again

Mia comes back, she helps me get him upstairs to my bedroom. She brought me our mother's medical bag.

I wanted to see his chest, but not like this. I look at his stomach, that's when I see a bullet hole. I look at his right shoulder and sure enough, he has an N on it. Just like Mrs. Dupree said there would be.

"He's been shot. I have to take the bullet out." I tell Mia looking at the bullet hole

"I'll get some towels and hot water and some sanitizer for your hands," Mia said

I rub his head, "don't worry, I'm not going to let you die." I said looking at his handsome face

He smiles at me. "God even his smile is handsome." I am thinking

After I finally get the bullet out and stitch him up. "Who shot you? " I ask while I am removing the bloody towels from under him.

Mia and Lia walk into the room before he could answer me

"Those are my sisters Mia is the one waving. The little one is Lia. I'm Nia" I said looking at him.

"Someone's coming up the driveway," Mia said looking at her tablet.

"Lia, stay here with him," I said still looking at him. I did not want to take my eyes off him. "Don't worry they won't get you. I'll bring you back something to eat and drink." I said as I stood up walking to Mia

Mia hands me my gun. She had hers in her hand.

He looks at us, worried at first. Then the expression on his face relaxes.

"Don't worry Nia, I'll protect your Hercules," Lia said smiling at me.

"Lia, be quiet," I said as I walk out the door, not looking at her.

I heard him whisper "Hercules," He's not very good at whispering.

"Kalani"

I could feel Princess coming closer to me. She came to the tree that I was in earlier. Now I know for sure that she knew I was here earlier. She helped me get on her horse and hauled ass getting me back to her house.

I remember her smiling when I told her she is mine.

She didn't waste any time taking the bullet out and stitching me up.

When Nia and Mia went downstairs to answered the door. They took guns with them. She said, don't worry, and they won't get me. I knew right then that they would do anything to keep me safe.

Lia called me Nia's Hercules. I was happy that they had been talking about me.

I was worried about Princess and her sister. I tried to stand up, but couldn't. I was a little weak.

"Don't worry, my sisters can handle anything," Lia said smiling at me.

"I believe they can," I am thinking.

"So tell me about yourself, Hercules," Lia said sitting on the mattress smiling at me.

"Why do you call me that?" I ask looking at Lia

" Nia didn't know your name. When she was drooling over you in the pet store. She said you are like Kevin Sorbo, Hercules. Tall, handsome, and sexy." Lia said looking at me smiling

I was happy that Princess felt that way about me.

Ding Dong, Ding Dong, Ding Dong

"STOP RINGING MY DOORBELL" Nia yells

Nia: "Who is it?"

Stranger: "Ma'am we're looking for a man."

Nia: "You were the one that was shooting?"

Stranger: "Yes Ma'am"

She opens the door with the gun pointing at the man

Nia:" This is my property. I did not give you permission to hunt on it. Did I?"

Stranger: "No, but we have always hunted on this property. You don't need the gun."

Nia: "I own the property now. No one will hunt on my property. I will shoot trespassers and not ask any questions. Do you understand me?"

Stranger #2: "Just what are you going to do with that gun, little lady?"

Nia: "If you come back on my property again, you will find out. Don't ever call me little lady again."

Stranger#2: "Walking toward the porch."

Nia: "If you take another step, you'll be missing some toes."

The man smiled at Nia and took a step.

Nia shoots three of his toes off.

Nia: "Don't come back on my property again. Next time it will not be toes that I shoot."

Stranger: "Ma'am, you sure are feisty for to be alone."

Nia: "Who said I'm alone. Nia said as she's pointing at a gun." Mia is pointing at them through an open window.

Nia: "Get off my property. Don't come back."

The stranger picks up the man's toes. He helps the man back to the car, and they drove away.

Nia walks into the kitchen, warms up leftover fried chicken, turnip greens, corn, and cornbread. She also picks a bottle of coconut water and a Sprite to take to Hercules. She still doesn't know his name.
