Have you ever thought of living inside your favorite video game? Or going back to the past and possessing the power to change the prophecy? Well, you better fasten your seatbelt because this book is going to take you to another world of gaming and unleash your deepest potential!

Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess No Matter What! was a complete package of action and adventure, consisting of 99 amazing chapters. This thrill-filled light novel was still ongoing and not yet marked completed, meaning there are still a lot of things to look after it.

It was originally called Chounin A wa Akuyaku Reijou wo Doushitemo Sukuitai for it was written in Japanese and was eventually translated by Nocturne Translations to the English Language.

Published by Kakuyumo and Syosetu, this Shounen-themed work of fiction gathered positive feedback not only in Japan but also across the globe.

This is quite an outrageous and engaging story that will kill your boredom. But let me warn you that please stop expecting too much. I think this was written for light reading and entertainment without heavy plot twists in the succeeding chapters.

There was a reverse harem vibe, and I could not agree more. The dramatic and action elements were all present, together with some mysterious passages which you should watch out for. All in all, it was indeed a nice and awesome story of saving the heroine and the world from chaos.

Part 1: Extraordinary Characters and Highlights of Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!

Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!- Part 1 Background and Characters

So, the story went like this, Allen, an eight-year-old boy who had nothing but his mother. They were from a very poor family who came from a town called Lurden. However, things changed when he entered a different realm, a sim game where he eventually became a mob character.

Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What! began when the villainess, Anastasia Clynel von Ramslett was mistreated and dumped by the His Royal Highness Prince Karlheinz Bartille von Centraren, her fiancee since she was eight. Instead of marrying her, the prince decided to choose Amy who happened the bitchy female character in this light novel.

Later on, Anastasia was sent to the Provincial Convent and was attacked by the bandits. After that horrible incident, she was nowhere to be found. That particular memory came back to Allen’s sense which he found so peculiar. And from then on, he wanted to save that villainess and even the life of his mother.

Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!- Setting

Sorry, but I could not help to compare this novel to Mishima Yomu’s The World Of Otome Games Is Tough For Mobs. Well, of course, they were still different but with the way the story starts, I suddenly felt Deja Vu.

The premise and the foundation were similar, knowing that Allen was once a mob and reincarnated inside a dating sim game with RTS-style battle parts. Yet, I was not really bothered with those things as long as I’m well-entertained. It was just my opinion anyway.

Part 2: Golden Pages of Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!

Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!- Part 2 The Most Exciting Plot

As Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess No Matter What! moved forward, I was kind of blown away by how the main character seized every obstacle that came his way.

The otome vibe drove me crazy as there was a hint of romance and mystery in every chapter. It was cool, fascinating, and a bit expecting too much, but the entire reading experience was good enough for me. Not bad for finishing the 99 chapters. Two thumbs up for the author’s creativity.

You know, I don’t want to spoil but to tell you honestly the villager tied the knot with the villainess which was actually the title of the last updated chapter. With all the fantastic characters that you will meet along the way, I guarantee that it will be going to be fun. Although this was written from multiple points of view, I guess it all made sense anyway.

The ending was satisfying enough. And for readers like me who hated Amy and her reverse harem’s allies, it felt so good that they ended up having a taste of their own medicine. Plus, Markus finally admitted his mistakes and apologized to Anastasia. There was a mixture of bitterness and happiness at the end, but Allen ended up with the woman he ever loved.

Part 3: Portrait of Fantasy | Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!

Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!- Summary

Oh well, another light novel in my library was criticized and reviewed. Allen’s character was quite impressive, not only because he was the main character but there was something special with the way he improved until the end. Yet, there were still some additional chapters that were about to publish. I know that the author can make more of this in the future and I admire his way of narrating. However, I suggest he should stick to one POV next time. Just my two cents.
