Part 1: The Smoking-Hot Chapters Of The Untouchable Ex-Wife Novel
Chapter 1
Stefan Hunt’s, Renee’s husband’s, request for divorce while she was grilling steaks is the opening of The Untouchable Ex-Wife Chapter 1. Renee has predicted such a ridiculous request to come, for the arranged marriage between her family and the Hunts is never based on mutual love.
Renee can predict the outcome. That’s why she keeps her cool while signing the divorce letter. Such composure shocks Stefan, for the Renee Everheart he knows is no more than a timid and defenseless little rabbit. Yet, at this point in The Untouchable Ex-Wife Chapter 1, Stefan has nothing to lose because he already has Briar Desrosiers as his new lover.
Chapter 10
Stefan had previously lost his hostility due to his sorrows upon Tristan’s death. As a faithful wife, Renee accompanies her soon-to-be ex-husband to drink and have some intimate sessions. However, Stefan returns to his distant self once he regains his consciousness. At this point, Renee feels foolish in letting her guard off from Stefan.
To make matters worse, the nurse in the hospital where Renee lays down as a patient states Renee is pregnant with Stefan’s child. Meanwhile, Stefan appears with Briar in the last part of The Untouchable Ex-Wife Chapter 10. As usual, Briar is mocking Renee while caressing Renee’s tummy. Stefan also interrogates Renee while she endures the sickness. How can Renee go through these horrible occurrences?
Chapter 18
Chapter 18 of The Untouchable Ex-Wife becomes one of the highlight chapters because Stefan starts to be protective of Renee in this chapter. This chapter tells stories about Stefan facing ten gangsters, who try to disturb their me-times. One of them is Otto, who finally injures Stefan’s head.
Behind Stefan’s cold, stern, and menacing look is his fear of blood. So, he faints and stops fighting when Otto smacks his head with a beer bottle, which results in Stefan’s injured head being covered in blood. So, is Stefan truly becoming Renee’s Prince Charming this time? Or is he only pretending?
Part 2: The Amazingly-Written Main Story Of The Untouchable Ex-Wife
The Untouchable Ex-Wife is a divorce-themed romance novel that focuses on Renee Everheart’s story, and her relationships with the Hunts, and her husband’s family. Renee’s husband’s name is Stefan Hunt. Unfortunately, Stefan never reciprocates her love.
Renee’s grandfather and Stefan’s grandfather had been inseparable best friends long before the main story of The Untouchable Ex-Wife began. Renee’s grandfather’s last wish before he died was to have Renee marry Stefan. Like any arranged marriage setting, Renee and Stefan’s marriage life is far from being a love-based marriage.
Renee has tried to be a perfect wife to the man she loved even since the two hadn’t been married. However, no matter how hard Renee tries, Stefan’s heart isn’t “there”. Renee describes her husband as if he always stood at the very top of a high building that nobody dares to climb.
So, Renee predicts the worst-case scenario, which refers to a divorce letter. We know she predicts the correct thing when we see the opening parts of The Untouchable Ex-Wife novel. That’s why Renee can keep calm while signing the divorce letter that Stefan handed to her while she was cooking her meal. She even doesn’t lose her composure when Stefan kicks her out of the house and Briar Desrosiers, Stefan’s new girlfriend, mocks her.
Renee gets a phone call from Liam, one of the Four Princes in the Beach City, and also one of her underlings, while she packs her things and gets ready for her independent life. The two soon strategize the best ways to make Renee’s position advantageous.
Too bad, Renee’s fever comes when the divorce process in the courthouse is not completed yet. What other things wait for Stefan and Renee in The Untouchable Ex-Wife? Will any of these occurrences reunite the two former couples?
Part 3: Some Reflections On The Untouchable Ex-Wife Novel
When I compare Renee Everheart’s displayed characteristics and the novel’s title, which is “The Untouchable Ex-Wife”, I see “The Untouchable” phrase refers to Renee’s ability to stay calm and composed when Stefan and/or Briar triggers her emotional sides.
Renee might look like a timid and weak little rabbit on the outside. Even Briar has the nerve to step on her. I believe Briar thought of Renee as someone who couldn’t fend for herself, even though this one is far from the truth because Renee proves her capability of living independently in a small apartment.
Renee’s calmness and composure grant her the ability to say the right things, especially in front of Stefan. Briar’s playing victim tendency also doesn’t faze her. Now, those traits are the admirable traits I find in Renee, the female MC of The Untouchable Ex-Wife novel!
Speaking about the scenes, I guess The Untouchable Ex-Wife novel has many “sudden” scenes. Everything “suddenly” would always point to Stefan’s (fake, hopefully) “rescue” of Renee. Since they never loved each other, I normalize Renee’s doubtful reaction each time Stefan rescues her.
I see Stefan in The Untouchable Ex-Wife as someone who doesn’t have an adequate understanding of what he wants in life. That’s why he plays with random women. He still has feelings for Renee, but he doesn’t divorce Briar, at least in the first half of The Untouchable Ex-Wife novel.
Regardless of which, sometimes, Stefan’s acts of rescue are heroic. Even so, sometimes, they are laughable, too. That’s why I wish for a novel with similar story patterns as The Untouchable Ex-Wife.
Part 4: Read A Similar Novel To The Untouchable Ex-Wife On Dreame
The Untouchable Ex-Wife has many moments of internal struggles in the chapter. We think of the word “fight” when we blurt out the word “struggle”. At some points, fighting also intertwines with the acts of rescuing. We see a prince charming of many unique characteristics saving his damsel-in-distress, but what about the “fighting” part?
So, is there a similar Dreame novel with both “fighting” and “rescuing” parts in the storyline, just like The Untouchable Ex-Wife? What about a brainy character who gets used to her calmness and composure like Renee Everheart in The Untouchable Ex-Wife?
Dreame has Rough And Ready. In this novel, we enter the story of Harper Lane, a Ph.D. student with a terrible past, and Reed Johnson, the rough-edged bad boy, who gets used to solving problems with his fists. Harper Lane becomes Reed’s new neighbor, and here’s where the “love at first sight” theme happens.
There is no such thing as an arranged marriage without love in Dreame’s Rough And Ready, which makes this novel slightly different from The Untouchable Ex-Wife. Yet, Harper Lane’s calmness is somewhat similar to Renee’s, and the acts of rescue in this Dreame novel are much like Stefan’s rescue of Renee in some later chapters of The Untouchable Ex-Wife.
