A holly-jolly Christmas felt in one book, where the female lead exudes such vibrance and sweetness. The Twelve Dates Of Christmas 2020 is such a good read while sipping your hot drink and enjoying the winter mood. So, whether you are naughty or nice, this one is for you.

Bayliss captured a lot of readers’ hearts when this gem was released during the Coronavirus pandemic. The main story revolves around Kate Amelia Turner, a single lady in her thirties who was no longer interested in dating, and Matt who happened to be her best friend and owned Pear tree Café.

This one-of-a-kind holiday-themed novel was not your ordinary second-chance trope. A talented author like Jenny was commendable for her witty yet funny banters. This is a whole lot of delightful small-town romance filled up with delicious humor.

From meeting different guys at a dating site event until a Christmas miracle happened and end up with the best man for her, which apparently she did not expect at all. Although some scenes were already predictable like guessing that Matt is the right man for her.

Yet the high-quality writing technique and hilarious dialogues swept all the negatives out. Not to mention the splendid prose and promising character development all throughout the story, it’s truly a must-read!

Part 1: The Main Storyline and Characters on The Twelve Dates Of Christmas

The Twelve Dates Of Christmas- Part 1 Background and Characters

The Twelve Dates Of Christmas book all happened in Blexford, where the fairytale-like scenes took place. Now that Kate’s age was beyond the unusual time for marriage, she was contented and ready to live all alone forever. She was just tired from the long-term relationship that she had before.

However, her best friend, Laura persuaded her to sign up for a dating website called Lightning Strikes. At first, there was reluctance in her heart, thinking it would not work. But she finally crossed her fingers and give one last shot to find the one whom she could finally settle with.

She was the one baking and delivering cakes and pastries to the café that her best friend, Matt owned. Their relationship was intact, sometimes enemies but still could not get enough of their companies.

They both thought of keeping it the same as it was for the rest of their lives. Not expecting that something better than that would flourish along her journey of dating twelve guys before Christmas day.

Given the fact that Matt was a divorcee and had a short-lived marriage with his mysterious ex-wife, the best buds stopped talking for nearly ten years. Well, thanks to her dad, Mac who became the bridge for the two to see each other again.

Matt was inwardly against the 12 dates of Christmas kind of thing; he always had those half-meant jokes that men who also signed up for the program would just take advantage of her.

Yet, Kate was determined to search for the right one for her, someone who could go the distance for her. Knowing that Laura already had Ben while Matt also had Sarah whom he met a couple of months ago, she could not help to rustle up.

But as she introduced to him her first date, her boy best friend always had something to say unpleasant in a teasing way. And believed that her date would not make a cut.

She only went home looking forward to her next date. The 12 dates of Christmas crew set up the next location in a skating rink where Kate and Anthony would meet each other. The next day, Kate was afraid that something might happen between them but she was all dressed from head to toe. Good thing there was Matt who took care of him until she became sober. The time came when she had to date Drew who was surprisingly not into her but to men.
