Part 1: The Best Of The Best Chapters Of The Lycan’s Queen Novel
Chapter 3
Zoya is a supportive sister figure to Aarya, even though she is not her sister. She proves it through her phone calls in The Lycan’s Queen Chapter 3. Here, Zoya reassures Aarya that Aarya doesn’t make scenes embraces her mental strengths, and hugs her, while also giving Aarya the space she needs to process her emotions. Meanwhile, the Lycan Ball is approaching, and Aarya’s cousin’s packs will attend the ball.
It convinces Aarya to prepare herself for the ball by dressing up her best. After 30 minutes of pulling out her best looks, Aarya heads to the place with her parents and siblings. Suddenly, while they are partying at the ball, Carter roars the word, “Mate,” which belongs to the word Aarya has avoided like a plague since her most recent heartbreak.
Chapter 10
The two Alphas, Adonis and Carter, have previously rivaled each other in their attempts to win Aarya’s love. We’ve seen it in Chapter 9 of The Lycan’s Queen novel, and such scenes persist in The Lycan’s Queen Chapter 10. Carter appears first after Aarya has done packing her things. This time, he appears with Diya.
Adonis’ appearances in The Lycan’s Queen Chapter 10 come after Aarya’s sobs. This time, the Lycan King shows his protectiveness to his future Queen by escorting her to his car to have some “me-times” with him. In addition, Adonis’ possessiveness is also evident when Hunter gives Aarya a necklace as a gift before she departs with Adonis.
Part 2: The Plot Summaries Of The Lycan’s Queen Novel
Doctors, accountants, and lawyers: Those three jobs are the professions that people relate to Indians the most. Just by looking at the character’s name, we are sure that Aarya Bedi, the 19-year-old she-wolf from the Black Moon pack in The Lycan’s Queen, is an Indian.
Accountants and lawyers don’t exist in the werewolf world. That’s why Aarya feels convinced of her dreams of becoming the pack’s doctor. So, she studies hard during her free time. Sometimes, she would also indulge herself in the rich worlds of romance novels. Such a thing grants Aarya an excellent memory, which gives her one step forward from her goals.
Romance is the only thing that Aarya longs for. The first half of The Lycan’s Queen novel tells us that only Aarya’s closest ones, including her siblings and Zoya, one of her siblings’ mates, recognize this vulnerable part of her. Aarya has fallen head over heels with Hunter Hall, the Beta of her pack since she was 13.
Since then, Hunter always does nice things to Aarya, including becoming Aarya’s first kiss while Carter Ward, the Alpha of their pack, trains himself. The feelings that Hunter’s lips produce for Aarya have engrossed Aarya’s mind that it’s hard for her to move on from the images, even when four years have passed since her last contact with Hunter.
The Ball’s schedule is coming, and Aarya has convinced herself that Hunter is her mate, only then to discover that Hunter has found another girl as his mate. To make Aarya’s head spin even wildly, Hunter, Carter, and the girl, don’t feel sorry for Aarya. It drowns Aarya further into her fantasies of rescuing acts from her future mate, whoever he is.
As Aarya indulges in her imagination by reading some more parts of her novels, she stumbles upon a part with “Lycan’s Mates” as the chapter’s title. Then, her mind wanders to Adonis Dimitri Gray, the unmated Lycan King in her territory. Only a few werewolves could call him Adonis; else, they have to refer to him as Dimitri.
As the most respectable figure in the werewolf world, Adonis will also attend the Lycan Ball. This time, will Aarya be “The Lycan’s Queen”? If yes, how will Aarya’s fate as The Lycan’s Queen turn out to be?
Part 3: An Analysis Of The Lycan’s Queen Novel
Werewolves value their friendships and families, and India as the country that becomes the novel’s central focus is known for their citizens who love to hang around together with their closest ones. I can see the Indian feelings in Aarya not only as far as her full name; her pack’s doctor dreams, and more importantly, how she invites her family and friends to the party, resembling what we’ve seen in Indian people most of the time.
The Indian communities are also inseparable from the concepts of “social castes”. Society will label Aarya as a bookworm due to her hobbies of reading romance novels, memorizing the scenes, and indulging in each character and element’s descriptions inside the chapters. So, it’s not surprising for Aarya to think lowly of herself.
In The Lycan’s Queen, I see Beta Hunter, Aarya’s first love and first kiss, traumatize Aarya’s mind about mate. Hunter’s acts of rescuing another woman in front of Aarya might seem harmless to other people, yet, think again of how much Aarya loves Hunter. Aarya’s diminishing self-confidence affects her encounters with other male werewolves, including Adonis Dimitri Gray, the Lycan King, and her second-chance mate.
Aarya’s low self-confidence, coupled with the slave-like social castes that Indians tend to attribute to women, results in her difficulties in escaping from Adonis’ claws. She might have figured that Adonis treats her like another disposable property. However, I also see that Aarya always has reasons to be vulnerable in the Lycan King’s presence, even when her actual power triumphs over the King.
Those things in The Lycan’s Queen novel make me think that this novel offers cultural approaches to the werewolf society. Hence, it humanizes werewolf characters and makes the readers feel even closer to the supernatural beings.
Part 4: A Decent Alternative To The Lycan’s Queen Novel
Traumas fill Aarya Bedi’s mind as she experiences betrayals from her ex-Beta crush and a series of torturous acts from a Lycan King who treats her just like any other property he possesses. I believe Aarya’s imagination isn’t her only power; sadly, The Lycan’s Queen novel’s stories show she doesn’t possess that level of confidence in her inner powers.
I would immerse myself even more in the novel’s chapters if I saw an identical novel to The Lycan’s Queen with a more kickass female MC, slightly darker backstories, and more vividly described romantic interactions between the characters. Thankfully, I feel relieved when I find Mark Of The Lycan Queen.
Mark Of The Lycan Queen tells stories about Tahlia, a young she-wolf with a strange birthmark. Lycans have murdered Tahlia’s family, and her brother is missing, too. Alas, a powerful Lycan King whose name is Archibald holds Tahlia captive. Then, Archibald discovers the mark on Tahlia’s body that matches with his late mate’s.
Archibald’s curiosity about Tahlia’s background leads the two MCs to struggle in their control-issue-filled relationships. At the same time, Tahlia’s feelings for Archibald also blossom. What else will happen in their relationships?
