In the supernatural realm of the beta’s regret and under the Silver Moon Pack, there was hierarchy. Hierarchy is never to be joked about in the werewolf world. The Alpha and his Luna held the highest authority, followed by the Beta and succession was majorly by birth. Omegas were the least members of the society. They were the working-class, the servants and in some cases, the slaves.
Which was why Eden’s mating to a Beta was an unusual occurrence. Omegas knew their place and if they tried to forget, other members of the pack were at liberty to remind them. But the weirdest thing had happened when a few days ago, Theo had spoken the word ‘mate,’ to Eden’s hearing.
Not only was she born an Omega, her family was poor. Their father had abandoned them after her mother had given birth to two kids. They were the most looked down upon family in the pack and Theo’s words, whisking Eden to a state where she thought there was hope for her family. Presently, they were bullied and beaten and spoken down on, but soon as he made their relationship public all of that was bound to change.
Theo had spoken such sweet words yesterday, as he marked and made love to her. Their agreement after they discovered they were mates had been to keep it a secret. But Theo had promised last night that he would announce their union today at Lyra’s birthday ceremony. Lyra was the Alpha’s only child and future Alpha of the pack. Her father had planned a huge ball for the occasion and even the highbreeds were coming.
Eden happily dressed and followed her mother and sister to the ball at the pack house. Theo was here and indeed he liked the dress she’d put on just to please him. He walked over and requested a dance with her. The action made her friends envious and after the dance, they pointed out how there was such chemistry between the two as if they were mates. Eden almost let the cat out at this time, but decided to wait for Theo to make the announcement as promised.
He was presently dancing with Lyra. He’d told Eden how he was only friends with the girl, how they’d grown up together and were very close due to the fact that they were the leaders of the pack. While her friends daydreamed of the possibility of an Omega mating to a Beta, and as Eden watched and waited for the transformation moment, the lights deemed and to her amazement, Theo goes on one knee with a ring box and proposed to Lyra.
Eden was broken. Theo could have behaved differently and still married Lyra, but it was of paramount importance that he showed the Moon goddess how stupid she’d been for making such a mistake as to have mated him to an ordinary Omega. He said as much and in the presence of everyone, rejected Eden.
While Eden fell to the ground, groaning in pain and the audience amazed at the turn of events… a highbreed smiled happily behind the crowd. His name was Eros, a powerful mix of Vampire and Werewolf. He’d come to Silvermoon accompanied by his king, on inspections about two years ago. But what nobody understood was why he and a few others had stayed.
