Astrid had a tough time living with her stepfather, whom she even thought was her real father for her entire life until she was weeks away from her eighteenth birthday. Astrid was constantly maltreated by her stepfather because he blamed her for her mother’s death.
The man literally hated Astrid and he beat her several times, severely. Astrid also worked in a diner, and all the money she made went to her stepfather’s account. But all that was going to change after Astrid had a certain encounter with customers that had apparently come to the diner for a meal.
Ryker waltzed into Astrid’s life like current. She had just faced another round of unwarranted beating from her stepfather and resumed her job at the diner when a group of men entered.
Firstly, Astrid had been noticing a black car following her every time she walked to her place of work but she never got to meet the person or people in the car just yet. She was serving at the diner when Ryker walked in, claiming to perceive a pleasant scent.

Ryker was an Alpha, so when he claimed to perceive that scent, nobody took it that he must have found his mate, especially Jim, the owner of the diner, who was also a werewolf. They settled that it must be the aroma from the kitchen that the Alpha of Shadow Crest, Ryker, was perceiving.

Part 1: Storyline Of The Alpha’s Mate Who Cried Wolf
Astrid had a decent life before, until her mother died. She had fragments of the memories of her mother when she died, and it was just that memory she was left with as her life changed drastically when she started to live alone with her stepfather. Astrid’s stepfather actually loved her dearly at first, until her mother died, and the man blamed Astrid for it.
Astrid suffered every day, beatings from her stepfather, and there was absolutely nothing she could do about it. Even when her employer, Jim, suggested an intervention, Astrid refused, claiming that matters would only get worse for her if she involved a third party.
Things changed for Astrid when a mysterious set of men entered the diner on a very good day. The leader of the men was the Alpha of the Shadow Crest Pack, Ryker. To start with, Astrid did not know her origin. She was a werewolf, but she had no idea.
In the werewolf realm, Astrid was an Omega because she didn’t have a pack, but guess what? Astrid did not have the slightest idea about all that. She didn’t know that werewolves actually existed. The Alpha’s Mate Who Cried Wolf thought that werewolves only existed in movies and novels alike.

Moving forward, Ryker eventually identified Astrid as his mate. It was the most absurd reality because Astrid was an Omega, while he was an Alpha. What was the moon goddess up to? Anyway, according to The Alpha’s Mate Who Cried Wolf, Astrid was Ryker’s mate. I need not emphasize the bond between mates, so it would not come as a surprise when readers find out how upset Ryker was to see Astrid’s scars caused by her stepfather.
Already, Astrid was giving Ryker a hard time. Recall that she did not know anything about werewolves, so when Ryker explained what she was to him, and how she was his mate and all that intricate detail, she did not believe an ounce of it. Along the line, she had to come to terms with it anyway, especially when her stepfather showed up at the diner because Astrid had stayed out longer than usual.
There was a big fight between Astrid’s stepfather and Ryker. Astrid’s stepfather shot Ryker close to his heart, but Ryker was still able to overpower and beat up Astrid’s stepfather to a pulp, leaving him unconscious on the floor. It was only after Ryker had succeeded in overpowering the ruthless man that he passed out due to his gun injury. But guess what? Astrid, The Alpha’s Mate Who Cried Wolf was able to heal her mate and bring him back to life.

Chapter 6
The beginning of a new life for Astrid, The Alpha’s Mate Who Cried Wolf narrates Astrid being brought to the Shadow Crest Pack after the gruesome fight that Ryker had with her stepfather. Remember that Astrid had healed Ryker due to the fact that she was his mate, so, following the survival from a near death experience, Ryker took his Luna to his pack for the first time.
Astrid woke up in Ryker’s arms just when they were about to enter the mansion that belonged to the Shadow Crest Pack. It was indeed, the beginning of a new and pleasant life for Astrid, who was slated to be the Luna of the pack. The pack had never had a Luna under Alpha Ryker, so, one can only imagine the excitement that Astrid’s presence would bring. Even though that was the reality, Astrid was not yet a werewolf yet, as she had not yet turned eighteen and had not met her wolf, so she insisted on being addressed as Astrid in the pack, instead of Luna.
Part 3: Conclusion Of The Alpha’s Mate Who Cried Wolf
The Alpha’s Mate Who Cried Wolf is arguably the most interesting werewolf novel I have ever come across. I love the novel a lot because of the plain reason that, it is interesting. Very interesting and suspense filled. The author’s imagination is out of this world, and I love how the author expresses the plot in an acute way.
The book carries a good pace, it also carries action in nearly every page. There is something to look forward to. Cliffhangers are sprinkled in every page a reader turns, and if a novel has all these qualities, then it is not far from a bestseller status. I love the novel, and kudos to the author on an excellent job.
