Part 1: Story-line of Sweet Sorrow
There was a certain accident that happened one of the days during the period. Nicole had received a call about how her friend Sabina had fainted in the lobby of one of the hotels in town. She rushed over and took her to the hospital.
She later heard a rumor about how she’d fainted because a certain man’s wife had slapped her. Sabina denied it all, of course, and naive Nicole believed her. Well, Nicole asked Sabina to keep a watch on her husband while she was gone… Sabina promised to not let him cheat on her, and Nicole left for the suburbs.
She woke up one morning to a text from her ex. She read it, but something else worried her. She’d begun to discover that there were discrepancies in the communication pattern she’d established with Austin ever since arriving here.
As a matter of fact, she called for many minutes that morning and no one answered. She also texted, but no one responded, and neither did she receive a call or text back. She was troubled in her spirit and therefore decided to pay her home a surprise visit.
On arrival, she opened the unlocked door and walked in. On the floor were littered two people’s pairs of shoes. One a female, and the other a male. She followed the trail, and there were clothes. A tie, a trouser, and female clothes; a pantie, bra, and consequently satin jumpsuit. All were lying around on the floor, leading a trail towards the master bedroom, as if the owners were in a hurry to ly down. The bedroom door was wide open and Nicole walked in.
On the bed were Sabina and her husband – Austin. She watched in shock for a minute before they spotted her. Austin hurried up to find his boxers somewhere under the covers. Sabina only had a laugh ready for the occasion.
She’d, of course, rehearsed in secret in anticipation of this moment. She was nice enough to tell Nicole how stupid she was and how she was a smarter woman, saying how Nicole was a terrible wife who was never around for her husband.
Austin agreed with her and said that they need a divorce since he was tired of taking care of her family. Her brother was in University and her mother was in a nursing home.
Austin had previously accepted them before and during the one year their marriage had lasted. But alas, he’d changed. Nicole accepted his request for a divorce and left them.
Nicole was serving her mother-in-law the next morning when Austin came over. They both went to the registry and got officially divorced. Now, Nicole needed a job to care for her family. She entered a hotel and miraculously got a job. The pay was good, the incentives were generous. She was working one day, a few weeks later when she was asked to clean the presidential suit. Lo and behold, the occupant is her ex-boyfriend whom she’d dumped without a reason, a few years ago.
