Can’t Let You Go, Mate starts out very simply with a wholesome high school morning routine scene. Rose’s mom wakes her up, claiming she was late for university. Her mom offers breakfast, which was declined since Rose had no intention of missing any classes, fair enough.
Rose goes outside, and seeing her best friend Alice waiting for her in a car. Up until this point, everything was seemingly wholesome and nothing out of the ordinary. However, Rose then starts talking about how her best friend and mother were the only people she had left after her dad died during the ‘war of werewolves.’ Her dad was an omega, a capable fighting wolf. Though, Rose was only an omega.
After a little bit of scolding from their teacher, word starts spreading around Alpha Arvan Black. About how he’s so handsome yet dangerous at the same time. After a little trip to the caf’, Rose and Alice notice a few handsome boys walking around. One of them was Alpha Arvan. He, all of a sudden, started staring at Rose, his eyes locked intensely. This was short-lived and he walked off.
Though, this was one in a series of hints left by the author that Alpha Arvan was mated to Rose. These hints piled up, from Rose smelling a very attractive scent of Arvan to Arvan making very deep inquiries about Rose from her mother.
All of these inevitably resulted in Arvan rejecting Rose for her nature as omega and for being too weak for his standards. This was also, well, the initial spice of the series.

Part 1: Main Theme of Can’t Let You Go, Mate
This novel is very interesting in how it does things. It isn’t unique by any means, in undertaking the concepts of a love triangle, romance, rejection, and fate. Though, what it does has its own character to it that really clicks with me.
Starting off with the romance element, we get so accustomed to the nature of every character that intertwining these romantic relationships becomes something that’s almost personal. That is what I love about how the writer has designed their story.
The Love Triangle element isn’t all too obnoxious, it perplexes the reader, and it perplexes Rose as well. There is no definite correct choice with love interests, and everything feels natural instead of being forced.
The problem with undertaking these elements, despite their unique execution, is that they can’t be expressed in a manner that lives up to expectations. This transitions into the next section.
Part 2: The Writing of Can’t Let You Go, Mate
The writing isn’t bad by all means. Though, it is a little average. At times I found myself a little disappointed at how some scenes could have been made much more intense and meaningful had there been better writing used, and better words utilized. It isn’t all too uncommon for you to find misspelled words here and there.
Being unfamiliar with the genre will definitely have an impact on the enjoyability of this series since its general writing and wording aren’t friendly to these first-time readers.
At times the writing forces situations and backgrounds on you. The introduction to Rose’s character and background with her father who died in war felt really out of place, it felt forced, like background for the sake of background. A little more intricate placing for these flashbacks and informative scenes could have brought the series to a grander position.
However, it still is an experience. No enjoyable story has zero drawbacks which is evident here.
Part 3: These Characters are Spicy on Can’t Let You Go, Mate
The writer really did justice to writing each one of their characters. They feel natural, they feel realistic, and they feel very relatable when compared to the reader.
I especially loved Arvan’s character. He’s selfish, and he’s generally rude, though we get a peek into his cute and fuzzy side later in the novel and after so many chapters of a dark and broody Alpha, it does feel relieving seeing other sides of the coin.
Rose, despite being an Omega, displays such emotional presence with how dramatic her dialogues can be at times. The characters and the scenes really spice up this series and make me bite my nails in awe of what the series is capable of. Some moments are so bizarre on paper but when you look at the character that initiated these bizarre acts, it all just perfectly comes together.
Part 4: Conclusive Remarks
The question may be pondered as to whether this novel has flaws or is without flaws. It definitely has its issues, glaring ones, though did that stop me from enjoying this series to a great extent? No.
The character writing is beautiful, the scenes themselves are so intense that I even squealed at times, and the emotional connection you get with the author’s beautiful world just clicks in an indescribable sense. Can’t Let You Go, Mate is a form of justice to us, novel readers, craving more and more masterful work and this is a perfect example of what we need.
Sure, the writing may get in the way a little bit though inevitably the positives outweigh the negatives to various extents. I absolutely recommend Can’t Let You Go, Mate. Go give it a read!
