Anna -the strong female lead, is the last child of a very angry and tormented father. The werewolf was simply mad about everything in the world. From the well detailed description of the author, Anna’s father probably had a mental illness long before he experienced the catastrophe that crippled him, entirely, emotionally.
Anna has no knowledge of her birth or the shewolf who brought her to life. But as she grew in the midst of persecution, she would learn how it was her fault that her mother died while giving birth to her. Her mother, of course, was the werewolf’s mate and he was going to take his revenge on his only daughter.
His son had somehow inherited his father’s illness, as it was nothing but enthralling to him to just sit and watch as his father inflicts every kind of torture on his only sister. These men never cared that she was a child, only fifteen years old, as they beat and kick her at every available opportunity.
Anna was nothing but a slave in her father’s house. Nothing was ever said with reason or pure intentions. All she received were orders and shouted instructions. A man who was leader to his Pack was terror to his fragile and only daughter. He blamed her for his mate’s passing, said how she refused to stop coming until his mate bled to death. How funny.
That was terrible, but nothing was as terrible as the fact that at fifteen Anna was still not able to find her wolf. She would speak to it on every birthday but nothing spoke back to her. This discovery made her even more ridiculous among the pack. Her father and brother’s abuses became a generally accepted norm in the pack. Nobody cared when she showed up bearing bruises on her body.
They all christianed her the Stain of the Pack. Nobody knew her name, they all referred to her as the stain. Run away? No, that would even make it worse, as even though her people or pack didn’t want her, her father would rather that she died in his hands than letting her take her chances among other packs.
That fear, plus the fear that even other packs can not be welcoming or accommodating to rogues. Anna chose to remain strong and desperately wait for her eighteenth birthday, which was just 3yrs away. When she would find her mate and have every reason to leave her father’s house, and probably her pack.
Little did she or anyone know that the Mountain Pack, as they called themselves, were committing unacceptable crimes against the general werewolf world by not only torturing their Omegas but also killing them and abandoning them in shallow graves by the roadsides.
Other Alphas got the news. And on this faithful day, which was both the death and birth anniversary of Anna and her mother, her father had beaten her enough to leave bruises on her face and body. She’d ran to the safety of some distance and was nursing her wounds when an explosion sounded and some members of the pack ran towards her hiding place.
Turned out the Alphas had arrived for a raid, had killed the werewolves, set their shewolves and pups free and had gathered them in the clearing to decided which pack to absorb them in. As they made introductions and roll calls to absorb the women and children, Anna’s name was not found.
But since they couldn’t leave anyone behind, Alpha Fraction would urge her to come along to his own pack. Anna refused to speak to anyone, she was scared of receiving more punishments, and if the rumors were true, who says there was any solace in her new found pack? But what happens when Alpha Fraction discovers she was his mate?
