Part 1: Main Storyline of The Legendary Man
The main theme of The Legendary Man gives you a perception of the switch in respect a person can experience from the people who hated him just by having a little wealth and power.
The storyline revolves around an ordinary man named Jonathan Goldstein. He led a simple life until his company met an awful loss, throwing him into debt. Until a rich girl, Josephine saved him and asked him to marry.
After the marriage, he was poorly treated by his in-laws, and even his wife didn’t let him touch her. Everyone passed taunts and pity statements at him, but he couldn’t care much. Until he found a book that altered his life; the only problem was he didn’t have the second half.
On Josephine’s birthday, he decided to go in search of the book without informing anyone, not even his wife. His journey had made him Arson, who had never been beaten in a single battle. His entire personality was transformed, and people around him respected him.
But his search continued. He heard the legends of the book were connected to Jadeborough prison. He voluntarily imprisoned himself for a year. Even after a year, the search was all in vain. So he decided to go back to the town and meet his wife.
The story starts when he gets out of jail, and as he reaches his town, he comes across a show-girl who starts forcing him to go with her.
This argument was still in place when Josephine’s best friend recognized him as she passed.
She accused him of going with a show-girl instead of meeting his wife and started abusing him. Although Jonathan didn’t care about what she thought of him, he only wanted Josephine to have a good image of him.
He insists on meeting Josephine, pretending he is going to leave her, and wants to see her one last time. Hearing this, she agreed to take him to Josephine’s birthday party, where Alvin, a young billionaire, was proposing to her.
As he heard that, Jonathan’s mind started to boil, someone was asking her wife to marry him, which was enough to make him mad. He showed his disagreement, which led to an argument.
During the argument, one of Josephine’s friends asked what gifts they had brought him. To their amazement, he pulled out a necklace with antique jade, which most of them thought was fake.
After hearing about the necklace’s fakeness, Josephine rejected it and threw it outside. This caught the eyes of the renowned middle-aged billionaires of town who tried to buy this rare jade. The audience was surprised at Jonathan’s wealth.
Will Josephine get back to him? Will she start loving him?
Will Jonathan be the man he deserves to be? Read the novel to find out.
Part 2: The Author’s Writing Method in The Legendary Man
The author has skillfully provided every detail of the surroundings in the novel, from the prison environment with its details of different prisoners to the ballrooms and the character portrayal of different personalities.
The miseries suffered by Jonathan from people of her wife’s circle before going to prison were very well represented, and the switch from good-for-nothing son-in-law to brave and dedicated Arson was worth mentioning.
You’ll be very addicted to the comebacks and the wealth he has gotten in the journey without caring for them.
The best part of the author’s monologues is the argument between Alvin and Jonathan, where despite having hatred from the audience, Jonathan doesn’t care for anyone but Josephine to go with him.
Also, you’ll like how quickly the author has uncovered the plot and unique dialogue delivery that’ll keep you engaged.
