Lucia’s mother, Amanda, had an affair with the King and gave birth to Lucia, but Amanda didn’t tell anybody about it. Who would have a baby for the King and not inform the royal family? Especially a mother that didn’t have any money.
Well, Amanda, Lucia’s mother was that woman. She hid the fact that she was from a bloodline of nobility, and also hid the fact that she had borne the king’s daughter. Before Lucia’s mother died, it appeared as if she had foreseen her death because she sent out a letter to the royal palace. That was the letter that she should have sent a long time ago. If Amanda had sent that letter since she might not have died, but maybe it had to happen the way it did, by all means. After Amanda died, a guard took Lucia to the royal palace.
It was common knowledge that the King, Lucia’s father, lived a life of debauchery, and so he had a lot of illegitimate children, just like Lucia. As a result, every now and then, there was always a woman at the entrance of the royal palace claiming to have borne the king’s child. This continuous occurrence caused the royal palace to acquire a magical tool that would prove the claims of these women who said that they had given birth to the king’s child. The tool was used on Lucia, and it was confirmed that she was royalty, so she was accepted into the royal palace.
Contrary to what anyone would think, after being accepted as the king’s daughter and moving into the palace, Lucia’s life would turn around for the better, Lucia considered it a spiral down. She was just one child amidst hundreds of illegitimate siblings, so there was no attention placed on her.
Lucia was given a room in a palace at a part of the palace that was rarely visited by anyone. She was assigned maids but these maids soon left Lucia because they were not receiving any extra incentives from her.
In fact, Lucia was often mistaken for a maid while she was in the palace, and she accepted it, doing chores around the palace which eventually became the best decision that she made because it enabled the circumstances and events that made Lucia live a more adventurous and worthy life. Prologue
The prologue of Lucia reveals the details that made Lucia who she turned out to be during the rest of the chapters of the book. It starts with the author narrating her experiences within the dream and outside of it. One has to keenly read between the lines so as to detect when the author shifts between timelines.
The first chapter holds a lot of information about the entirety of the book from how Lucia’s mother was noble to how she lost face and became a common person until she died. One striking fact that was narrated in the book was when Lucia met her uncle in a dream at age 25. He revealed to her that she was a princess and told her the story of how his family lost her mother because they were careless. In this same chapter, when Lucia moved into the palace as the King’s daughter, she was given the name Vivian Hesse, officially bearing the surname of her King’s father. Lucia was the 16th Princess.
I need to add one more detail about this very rich chapter of Lucia’s Book. In the dream, when Lucia turned 19, her father, Hesse the 8 th died. The new king, Hesse the 9th, sought to cut down on the population of Princes and Princesses in the royal palace, and as a result, he married Lucia off to an old, fat perverted man that used Lucia to live up to his sexual urges and cravings.
The life that Lucia saw herself in her dream was definitely one that anybody in her position would fight to stay away from.
Chapter 1
In the first chapter of Lucia’s Book, Lucia had started to get used to her life in the royal palace as a worthless princess. She had started to do jobs meant for the maids, and as a result, earned herself the privilege to leave the castle unnoticed, since the guards thought she was a maid. This single move started the turn of events in Lucia’s life, as she met Norman, a writer, and author that changed Lucia’s life.
Lucia had approached the author to help her after seeing her countless times sitting alone in public, looking frail and hungry. It turned out that Norman was an author that wrote about nobles and commoners, but she could not achieve a decent book because there was a gap.
She couldn’t relate to the life of nobles, so her books lacked depth. This was where Lucia came in. Having experienced nobility in and outside her dream, she buttressed important details about it to Norman, which Norman used to make her books more appealing.
Soon enough Norman became a popular and best-selling author, acquiring a lot of money, and giving Lucia a decent sum every now and then which really helped Lucia in the end.
