The story tells about Jian Yiling. She was transported into a book and took over one of the troubled characters in the novel. Her role in the book was supposed to take her down a useless and tragic path. However, Jian Yiling with her knowledge of the events that were to happen in the novel didn’t want to accept such a fate.
The story has an incredibly beautiful plotline. It sort of shows how necessary communication can be, and how detrimental pride is. Speaking about our feelings is not weird or overly sensitive. Rather, it is a way to avoid misunderstandings. The original character of course won’t have the same information that the new host retained. She wouldn’t know her errors at all.
From Sidekick To Bigshot gives a wild look into the errors of the modern age where misfortune befalls the misinformed. The story explores themes of growth, family, friendship, and love. The characters are inflicted with colorful backstories and are so well-crafted to suit the general tone of the novel.
I especially enjoy seeing the way the family of the protagonist can handle such peculiar situations as they do after she transmigrated. The characters seem quite peculiar at first, but after a while, the flow of the novel allows the reader to understand why. At that point, it gets impossible to drop this book.
The author does a wonderful job of providing two different perspectives of a story and shedding light on the absent qualities that are necessary for growth in the family as well as in society.

Part 1: Plot Summary of From Sidekick To Bigshot
The story follows Jian Yiling as she is transmigrated into a novel she knows very well. Jian Yiling finds herself in this peculiar position, living the life of a character that was put in just to be a background of misunderstanding: The original character was supposed to be a spoiled and selfish girl who ignored everyone and did whatever she wanted even if it hurt others.
Now, Jian Yiling will do everything she can, with the knowledge she has, to change what should have been. While the original host did not understand the minds of the people around her and caused a rift to exist between herself and her loved ones, Jian Yiling now, was clear on what needed to be done. Just like this, she melded into this world.
With all she knew, it was not hard for Jian Yiling to work in the best interest of her loved ones. Things were different from her real world but they weren’t necessarily bad. For instance, in this other world, she had parents who loved and cherished her so deeply, but in her world, it was the opposite. Jian Yiling uses her medical skills, her social skills or lack thereof, to fight for, and protect the ones she must. In this way, she garners the care and support of the people that she encounters.
Jian Yiling is able to correct the mistake of the original host, and in the process finds love and romance in the place she most definitely never thought to look for it. But how many incidents can she block, and how many can she save?
Part 2: Meet The Main Character of From Sidekick To Bigshot
Jian Yiling
She is a young woman with experience and skills in the science field. Jian Yiling lived a very bland life back in her world. She practically grew up in a lab. Her parents were people who didn’t exactly care about their daughter, as such she didn’t experience familial love, nor did she gain proper social skills.
Jiang Yiling arrived in this world that was supposed to be fictional, and she met loving parents and a caring family; such a sharp contrast to what she knew. Jian Yiling wants nothing more than to protect this family that she has. She doesn’t exactly know how to converse with them, but she can show them her intentions instead.
The former life was supposed to be one full of distrust, hatred, and pain, but Jian Yiling was prepared to do everything in her power to make it something different. She would do better than the original host.
Jian Yiling is a straightforward young woman. She has the tendency to be called insensitive, but this is merely her surface-level appearance and her bad social skills. Mostly, for this reason, she doesn’t speak much. She had top medical skills where she came from, and it became an especially useful asset in changing the lives of the people she encountered.
Jian Yiling didn’t know that she was slowly making the story her own. The people that were supposed to rally around the female lead in the novel, those people were coming to her.

Chapter Three
Jian Yuncheng noticed Jian Yiling at the door of the ward, and he walked over quickly. Although she looked innocent, in this situation one would assume she had a black heart. Yuncheng told his sister to go apologies to her third brother. Yiling responded that he would get angry.
Yuncheng scolded her heavily, reminding her that she caused the problem therefore she shouldn’t be scared of their brother’s anger. Yiling in slow speech, only corrected that she was not scared, but rather worried about his hands.
Yiling wanted to cure her brother’s hands, therefore she couldn’t allow his hands to be wrecked further. Due to her slow and delayed speech, Yuncheng thought she was scared, but actually, she was just unused to speaking with ‘family’. In her world, she rarely had contact with her parents. Once more, Yuncheng prompted her to go apologize, assuring them that he would pay attention to their brother’s injured right hand.
When Yiling appeared, Jian Yunnao grew agitated and upset. He was furious at his little sister for what happened to his hand. Yiling had already resigned herself to taking the blame, even though she didn’t do anything to hurt Yunnao. Her third brother had dreams.
Now, everything was ruined. He was angry and sad and he hated his sister. It all started because she argued with him. With his uninjured left hand, Jian Yunnao violently picked up the lunch box next to him and threw it right at Jian Yiling’s head.
