Chapter 1 – 2
Bride Behind the Mask Chapters 1 – 2 summarizes up the fateful encounter between Frederick and Marguerite and the consequences it . Frederick wakes up in his room, feeling dazed and unsure what occurred the night before. A lying naked woman beside him told everything he needed to know. He saw blood on the sheets and though it concerned him that the woman was a virgin, he didn’t let that affect him. A one-night stand is a temporary agreement, after all.
Just as he exit the hotel, he found a necklace hanging off of his coat. He couldn’t believe his eyes as he looked at it as it bore an eerie resemblance to the jewelry that the woman he’s been searching for wore years ago.

In Bride Behind the Mask Chapter 13, Frederick is abusing his power to roast Marguerite. Her application was accepted and her designs had been approved by Frederick’s associates. But Marguerite didn’t expect Frederick played the role as the president. If she had read that earlier, she would have submitted her application to another manufacturer. Frederick loathed her. Ever since she showed up in his house, and claimed they’re married, Frederick’s been punishing her. It wasn’t as though she did that all by herself. Someone forced her and the compensation was her grandmother’s treatment. What’s worse, her parents forced her to wear a mask and assume a new identity.
Chapter 20
In Bride Behind the Mask Chapter 20, the mysterious dealer that put Marguerite in her situation called again, ordering her to do a task that seemed to be way beyond Marguerite’s power. The caller wants her to say ‘I love you’ to Frederick. Already equipped with the knowledge that the man’s humanity is dormant, Marguerite wished to refuse but the caller, once again, gave her no chance of speaking for what she wants.
The chapter ends with Frederick forcing his secretary to continue the investigation on Marguerite’s background. Though he’s been told numerous times that she was clean, Frederick couldn’t simply leave it alone. He’s clinging on a hunch that Marguerite’s hiding something from him. She’s not the woman she presents herself and Frederick would do in his power to tear the mask that’s hiding her true self.
