Predatory Marriage starts off on a dark tone, with Princess Leah writing a suicide note as she was almost certain that the night of her forced marriage would result in her death. She wanted to bring disgrace to her family for forcing her into her impending doom, and suicide would do just that.
However, she wanted to maximize the disgrace brought upon her family for bringing her to an undeserved position as a princess despite her accomplishments and efforts for her nation and family. She was, inevitably and metaphorically, sold by her family like a good in exchange for wealth.
Chang Jeong-baek, the person she was to be wedded to, was old enough to be her father and looked rather like a toad. He was extremely powerful, and retaliation for his asking for a hand in marriage to the princess would probably be detrimental therefore Leah’s parents had minimal hesitation in giving her away.
Leah had planned out the exact events of what would happen as the horses saddled outside. She would arrive at Oberde after a three-week-long journey by carriage and in that place, she would exchange vows through a kiss and spend the night with him.
Just the thought of that sent shivers down her spine. However, she planned the perfect ending for her. As the toadlike person would put his disgusting hands on her, he would find out that the virginity of the bride of Estia had already been taken which would result in her being stripped of her royal position and proliferating insurmountable disgrace to her family.
That would be, for her, the best ending. Little did she know that losing her virginity to a stranger would result in her finding her true love.

However, despite her intelligence, independence, and ability to fend for herself, Leah is emotionally fragile and easily hurt.
Despite her initial plan for retaliation, Leah is not a cruel or heartless person, and she has no intention of hurting anyone. She is simply irate and disillusioned due to the injustice and corruption that exists in the ruling class of her family’s business. She has a desire for justice and the conviction that she can bring about positive change in the world by tarnishing the name of her family.
Throughout the course of the book, Leah goes through significant development as she discovers how to rely on and trust other people, particularly her husband Ishakan.
As she overcomes a series of challenges and perils, she gains a better understanding of her own resilience and bravery in the process. Leah’s journey is one of self-discovery as she learns to learn to stand up for her ideals and discovers her own internal motivations and desires along the way.
Leah is an intriguing and multifaceted character who, all in all, is largely responsible for the progression of the storyline throughout the book. Her victories and setbacks combine to produce a narrative that is so compelling and interesting that it is certain to keep the attention of the readers.
Part 2: Main Theme of Predatory Marriage
The fight for justice, as well as the fight against corrupt institutions, are two major themes that are explored in “The Princess’s Predatory Marriage.”
In the story, society is ruled by a corrupt and repressive ruling class, and justice is difficult to come by on a regular basis. The primary motivation for the story’s protagonist, Leah, is the drive to bring about positive change and bring to light the dishonest members of her family’s ruling class.
The search for justice that Leah is engaged in is not an easy one; she faces a great number of challenges and obstacles along the way.
She is tasked with navigating the treacherous world of palace politics, where she is frequently met with hostility and opposition from those who favor maintaining the status quo. Leah, on the other hand, does not waiver in her pursuit of justice because she is convinced that it is the morally correct thing to do.
The power of love and the way in which relationships can bring about change are two additional themes that are explored throughout the book.
The relationship between Leah and her husband, Jasper, evolves from a reluctant alliance into a connection that is profound and meaningful over time. As they collaborate to uncover the truth about the dishonest members of the royal family, they grow closer to one another and come to rely on and trust one another. This helps their relationship flourish.
Through this element of love and romance, comes the numerous chapters worth of erotic scenes within this novel. One appreciable thing about them is that they’re not there for the sake of being there, instead they have a deeper meaning behind the erotic material which adds something in one way or another to the story.
Part 3: A Steamy Chapter in Predatory Marriage
Chapter six of the novel, named A Long, Restless Night, is one of the steamiest ones out of the plethora of steamy chapters within this novel. The erotic scenes were great between Leah and the stranger she chose to deflower her and despite it being solely an erotic scene, there were numerous deeper messages and meanings behind the scenes that gave it a layer of depth.
Leah was not only finalizing and solidifying her revenge, but she was also forming a connection with the person she was truly destined to be with. The novel lacks scenes that don’t contribute to the story, and to say the least, this series of erotic chapters was enjoyable because of its contributive nature.
