Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 is like beauty and the beast. If you love that love story concept mixed with political themes, then I bet you will like Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1. This is honestly the first time I encountered some kind of political romance novel.
I was somehow drawn to the premise of love that goes beyond appearance. So, I kind of told myself upon checking the blurb, okay let’s try if Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 is all worth it.
There’s actually nothing new with the premise of Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1. Nobles from several nations must wed in order to forge an alliance for each of their countries, and eventually, they fall in love. This story concept isn’t brand-new, fascinating, or distinctive even with the cultural differences. In Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1, one is human and the other isn’t.
The girl was too ideal-beautiful, yet modest, selfless, devoted, witty, sympathetic, trustworthy, and all-around nice. She was too good to be true: he was charming, honest, gentle, witty, devoted, understanding, and unselfish. And like in a fairytale the female lead here in Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 has a cruel mother-in-law.
Given all these facts, let’s see then if Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 has something unique to offer.

Part 1: The Plot of Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1
“I’m not a human, wife,” he whispered into the darkness. Shock rounded his eyes at Ildiko’s response, slurred with sleep and nearly incoherent. “But you’re still mine, husband.”
Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 is a fantasy-themed romance.
To fortify the ties between their two kingdoms, Ildiko and Brishen are made to wed. The problem is that they are both members of two separate races: one is human and the other is Kai with grey skin, fangs instead of teeth, black claws instead of nails, and yellow eyes with no pupils.
They find each other at first meet, yet despite that, they find a special connection in their souls.
Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 tells the story of Ildiko, a member of the Gauri royal family, and Brishen, a Kain Prince. The issue is that they aren’t just from another country; they are a whole different type of person. Brishen is not a human, while Ildiko is.
Their marriage was more like a political alliance yet these two end up becoming close friends. As time passes, their inner beauty emerges, and they are swept by love. Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 is a friends-to-lovers, slow-burn romance.
Part 2: Main Protagonists of Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1
Brishen
In spite of the fact that he didn’t really want to be married, Brishen decides that it would be better for him to become friends with his new wife rather than be a jerk to her. They begin with a special bond that develops through time until each of them sees their own beauty. With that, I love Brishen’s character here in Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1.
He’s a gentleman. He’s a lot different from the male leads I read in other arranged marriage romance stories. His character-building was a sort of fresh air. So, I must say therefore that though Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 has a common plot premise yet here we have been given unique characters.
IIldiko
Ildiko was a great role model for women. She is compelled to wed a man she finds unattractive and move away from her family and race to live in a foreign country. She accepts everything with grace and makes the best of the circumstances that are presented to her; she does not mope around or whine.
She joins Brishen’s side and strives to be the best wife she can be. IIldiko’s character here in Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 was also a breath of fresh air.
Ildiko and Brishen, these two characters of Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 are both lovable in the sense that though they were from such different cultures, they were both open-minded and willing to bridge the gap between two very different species-the humans and the kai.
It’s fascinating to read that these two very different people fall in love with each other’s personalities and characters, hence, showing the readers a more deep meaning of love- that love goes beyond the physical.
Part 3: Review of Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1
I think what’s most charming about Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 are its characters. I have read lots of romance stories similar to what this book presented like arranged marriage, beauty, and the beast, these kinds are very common, and as I said a while ago, there’s nothing new about the plot concept of Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1.
Yet, the characters presented to us are a revelation. They are exactly opposite to the norm of character building. Also, the love concept between IIldiko and Brishen appears more realistic to me. And I like it.
All in all, I could say that Radiance Wraith Kings Book 1 may not be that striking at first glance yet once you pick up the book and read it, you’ll find yourself carried away by IIldiko and Brishen’s story.
