Part 3: Main Plot Of Nothing To Give But My Heart
Shen Qi was just trying to save her family from disgrace. She loved them, enough to not allow her younger sister who was slated to be sold off to marriage, have such a husband as her first encounter in matters of the heart.
According to Nothing To Give But My Heart Novel, Shen Qi was alone in a dark room, hearing nothing but the voice of a man demanding for her to be cleaned up so that he could inspect her. The voice was none other than that of her husband, Ye Moxuan.
Following her family”s financial constraint, Shen Qi became a substitute bride to Ye Moxuan. She, by all means had to live up to her new status as the wife of the most hideous man in the city. Ye Moxuan was rumored to be not only impotent and moody, but also cripple. No woman in the city wanted to be associated with him even though he was from a wealthy lineage. That must have been the reason Ye forced himself on a random woman on the way because he just wanted a baby. Little did he know that the woman he forced himself on, had become his wife, Shen Qi.
Shen Qi decided to naturalize and get accustomed to the Ye family, but it was not an easy feat, especially with the difficulty that Ye Moxuan and his caretaker bestowed on Shen Qi. At a good point in this book, I started to wonder who said the title, Nothing To Give But My Heart. Could it have been Shen Qi? I doubted it until I read further. It comes as a nice surprise, trust me.
Luckily for Shen Qi somehow, the overall head of the Ye family, grandpa Ye, liked her and asked that she personally took care of Ye Moxuan. He appointed her to be Ye Moxuan”s personal aide. Ye Moxuan hated it. In fact, at first, he refused until he could not get away from his father anymore. Also, Ye Moxuan”s older brother appeared to have a calmer temperament than Moxuan.
Shen Qi had an encounter with him in the beginning of the novel. He met her wandering and wondering around, trying to get a hang of herself, and oh, Shen Qi mistakenly fell into his arms, and that just happened to be the time that Ye Moxuan was being wheeled out. Trust him to give Shen Qi a tongue lashing.
Part 4: Conclusion
I love reading these sorts of books where the female lead is witty and nearly foolish. They always possess a thin line between extreme seriousness and extreme silliness. In fact, when the female lead in these sorts of books are serious, they express their seriousness via wit that borders on silliness. Nothing To Give But My Heart is a very interesting novel which has heart wrenching and heart felt moments of love in it.
