I’m a fan of k-dramas so when I bumped into Moonlight Drawn By Clouds’I was excited yet at the same time had high expectations, hoping that this novel would give me the same satisfaction as those k-dramas I have watched.
So, when it comes to thrilling the hearts and putting on romantic vibes, we must admit that k-drama is an expert on that, that’s why Korean stories especially romance stories are trending amidst all cultures now. I am really expecting that Moonlight Drawn By Clouds will not disappoint my pre-conception of Korean romance stories.
I was honestly swept off my seat when I learned that my favorite Korean TV series Love In The Moonlight was actually from Moonlight Drawn By Clouds. It’s just exciting to know that there’s a book version of that film so
I did not hesitate to pick up the book Moonlight Drawn By Clouds. Love In The Moonlight is a South Korean TV series that was based on Moonlight Drawn By Clouds. This is a young adult romance story that tells the coming-of-age story of the crown prince.
Both the TV series and the book were trending and earned positive reviews from fans and readers. Admitting that I’m a fan of the TV adaptation of Moonlight Drawn By Clouds, I’ll try not to sound biased with my review. Okay, so let’s dig out the reasons why this story was loved by many readers.

Part 1: Synopsis of Moonlight Drawn By Clouds
In Moonlight Drawn By Clouds, SamNom is actually Ra On. She is a relationship expert whose reputation for being able to handle any woman-related issue, has a secret. She is really a girl. Her destiny is altered by a fortuitous encounter with the Flower Scholar.
She has now become a eunuch and is in an illegal area. She has entered the eunuchs’ clandestine realm. The castle is about to become upside down as a result of her counseling.
In the book, Moonlight Drawn By Clouds, Ra On has a mother and a sick sister but no adoptive father. She agreed to a contract to become a eunuch due to the ailing sister.
The contract was from Prince Lee Yeong’s eunuch, who sought to bring “Sam Nom” into the palace after noticing that the Prince was fascinated by her. Ra On was in debt, yet she didn’t turn into a eunuch because of the debt collector.
The storytelling in the book Moonlight Drawn By Clouds has slight difference from that of the movie. Yet the basic plot premise was there.
Moonlight Drawn By Clouds, also referred to as Love in the Moonlight, is about a prince who falls in love with his eunuch, who is actually a girl dressed as a man, and the two must overcome numerous obstacles to keep their relationship secret and protect the throne.

Part 2: Main Protagonists of Moonlight Drawn By Clouds
Ra On a.k.a Sam Nom
Ra On was lovable both in the movie and in the book Moonlight Drawn By Clouds. I love how her character was shown in the book. The author did a good job on that because It was actually hard to show and tell a character that’s disguised as a boy.
That’s a pretty tough job, yet Ra On was presented in ways where readers feel and get easily connected with her character. Though she was told as a boy most of the time, readers could feel her feminine heart and her real personality. That was awesome.
Ra On’s personality, like most typical Korean drama leading ladies, was crafted as sweet and charming. And since she was disguising herself as a eunuch here, she’s smart. She’s not that kickass but she’s not weak. I like the balance of Ra On’s character here in Moonlight Drawn By Clouds. She’s a character to root for.
Prince Lee Young
He is the crown prince. Prince Lee Young of Moonlight Drawn By Clouds has such a fascinating background and is particularly interesting, especially to those who aren’t acquainted with Korean history and culture.
So, the entire palace revolves around him. He is a man of importance, a young man actually, to be precise a teen who’s growing and struggling with love life and responsibilities as the next heir to the throne.
Prince Lee Young’s personality was colorful. He wasn’t that nice guy at first. He’s naughty. But then, meeting Ra On changed him. He had a positive character development. That’s what I like about him. Prince Lee Young’s character development here in Moonlight Drawn By Clouds was realistic and something all young readers could relate to.
Part 3: Plot Review of Moonlight Drawn By Clouds
Moonlight Drawn By Clouds is enjoyable. I think this kind of plot is especially appealing to young adult readers. The thrilling scenes here are cute and romantic. There are lots of cliffhangers, and some events are a revelation that would make you eager to continue to the next chapters.
For me, both Moonlight Drawn By Clouds and its movie adaptation were nice. It has its own distinct appeal. If I were to rate this book, I would definitely say that this is really an effective young adult historical romance.
And as most k-dramas are, it has elements of a cute and heart-touching romance. You would get to love the characters of Moonlight Drawn By Clouds’not only because of their character building but also because of the storytelling of the plot.
